Joe isn't the most disappointing on the team

To be fair, there haven't been a lot of balls to go around. Joe completed 21 passes in both of his first two games and a little over a third are going to backs and TEs.

One wonders if DT might be questioning his decision to transfer, he's going to have to pick up the pace drastically to match the 366 yards he put up last season.

I missed the beginning of the game, was DT unavailable? I don’t remember seeing him at all yesterday.

"Overthrow Joe" it could become a thing if he doesn't correct his mental attitude about what he's trying to accomplish while throwing a football to another player. We all know you have the strongest arm in college football. Now lets see how accurate you can become and how good you can become at reading and exploiting defenses.

Chemistry is required at the QB position. You find the QB who can pull chemistry together, you have your QB. JMO....

**Edit** That's the one position the entire team feeds from, that's the "life" of any team.

IMHO the WR group as a whole will be fine..Sometimes guys just don't play as expected to begin a season..I believe the offensive play-calling was very basic..The Swamp, IMHO, will be Milton's coming out game for this season and in turn will elevate the WR's performance as well..Thornton might just turn out to be the best of the group..Two games is just too small of a sample size, to me, to give up on him or the other WR's..The running game is very impressive again this season (so far)..I know patience is tough to have but it does make things MUCH sweeter when it is rewarded...Ten more games is a long stretch with many opportunities to be the team most Vol fans expect from this squad....Marathon>Sprint..

Again, JMHO..Carry on

He’s only a 7th year senior but I suppose this is an opportunity to coach him up.

Joe currently tends to underthrow, throw high or throw behind the receivers. That 4 yard pass to Smalls for no gain being the most evident. He has tamed his arm strength but he isn’t accurate. At least he isn’t throwing any INTs yet, but we have to get some semblance of a downfield passing game starting next week.

The gameplan for these first two games were so limited, it put the WRs and TEs in very unforgiving spots to catch passes. The bubble screens have been the only uncontested balls, except for three long passes.

There is not showing your hand, and there is play calling so tight you are handcuffing your offense. Our passing game looked handcuffed the entire game.
The play calling gave our receivers no chance to use their superior skills and talent to beat APSU's defense.

Castle's nice reception and the running game led to success.

So far it's looking like all the WRs stats might be down this year if we don't improve. We all hope we show that explosiveness to continue to make UT attractive as a WRU option.

Joe also hit Jabari perfectly in the hands on a screen pass that small woulda gained minimal 30 yards but he dropped it… like y’all overly critical of Milton when he got no help from playmakers… team game I believe in Heup that’s why I’m not worried he will press the right buttons and we will be A OK… joe is playing good just need to be a little more accurate but sec playmakers have been killing him with drops early this season.

Joe's biggest problem is that he thinks too much! Play that game in the natural manner that you practice! The wr's just need to catch & block better! Our kicker needs to quit kicking out of bounds & giving our opponents the 35 yd line to start! The o-line needs a lot of work & to cut the penalties! Beasley is a BEAST! That kid saved us yesterday! Our db's have to GET THEIR HEADS TURNED AROUND ON THOSE PASS PLAYS, we would have a lot more int's & less penalties, & we just need to tackle better!

Thornton-he's shown me nothing to live up to his offseason hype
I don’t want to feed the trolls because there isn’t a player I’ve ever wanted to be more successful wearing a Vol uniform than JMIII because of his loyalty to the program and belief in CJH.

That said, DT will be off the charts next year with one more year in the system for both he and Nico.

I'm not being a troll. I wanted JG to succeed but he just wasn't good. It is okay to say I'm disappointed if someone isn't living up to expectations. There is a reason DT didn't play in the second half. The coaching staff saw it too

Milton has looked pretty good so far, can't think of more than a couple of overthrows so far, maybe a couple of under thrown balls, but for the most part, he has been accurate. The receivers are dropping passes that hit them right in the hands. Don't know if they are just not focused, or turning their heads before the ball gets there, looking ahead. I hope the receivers get focused this week. Gonna have to play a big part in the Florida game.
