Joe isn't the most disappointing on the team

"Overthrow Joe" it could become a thing if he doesn't correct his mental attitude about what he's trying to accomplish while throwing a football to another player. We all know you have the strongest arm in college football. Now lets see how accurate you can become and how good you can become at reading and exploiting defenses.
Whatever dude, he got his WRs I. The hands and had three overthrows.

A lot has happened all the way around to cause some concern at several levels on the offense. Mays being out . . . Has hurt our tempo (I think). Joe has been inaccurate at times . . . And our WRs have dropped several they should have caught. Thornton has not shown out yet, and overall the WRs have underperformed.

Having said all of that, I think we will know after the Florida game what we have.

Milton has looked pretty good so far, can't think of more than a couple of overthrows so far, maybe a couple of under thrown balls, but for the most part, he has been accurate. The receivers are dropping passes that hit them right in the hands. Don't know if they are just not focused, or turning their heads before the ball gets there, looking ahead. I hope the receivers get focused this week. Gonna have to play a big part in the Florida game.
This. Joes “off” throws have largely come under pressure. Otherwise, his passes have been largely on point and the drops by the WRs has got to stop. This is a crucial week of practice and I think they get it right and flip the script at uf. OL needs to not miss pass blocking assignments against uf, heavy film study should fix that. If I’m a wr or rb I’m hitting the jugs everyday after practice, or even better asking Milton to stick around to throw some.

We should be fine on Saturday. Run the ball off tackle, take “enough” down field shots to create some explosive plays and kept the running game flowing, and on defense bring the house. Their oline is trash. Our dline is our strength. They can’t run on us. Sell out to stop the run and create pressure on qb and we should win without much trepidation.

Keyton is a liability, too many critical mistakes, especially for a senior
Keyton could have set the tone by making some critical catches but did not.
He has definitely been a disappointment so far this early season.
Hopefully, he will make up for it……

Joe currently tends to underthrow, throw high or throw behind the receivers. That 4 yard pass to Smalls for no gain being the most evident. He has tamed his arm strength but he isn’t accurate. At least he isn’t throwing any INTs yet, but we have to get some semblance of a downfield passing game starting next week.
Does he have to hit ever receiver right in the hand to complete passes? Go back and watch Johnny Football highlights for a good answer.

1 has been here for 1 offseason. The other has been here 3. Thornton should've caught a couple but the WRs aren't getting a lot of good throws in general.
So then they are pretty average receivers is what you are saying.

I am more disappointed by the play calls than Milton. 80% of the pass plays are screen. Hard to throw down field when you have receivers blocking and throwing lateral instead of vertical.

Heupel mentioned in the press conference that the wr made no tough catches and said they had to make at least a few a game. They didn't even make several easy ones. As a unit they weren't good. Drops, penalties aplenty. We've probably lost 21+ points the first two games just off balls that were perfectly thrown that they flat dropped.

To be fair, I'm not sure Joe is being a great leader. He himself is struggling to mentally put it all together and hasn't put much focus on building up his wide receivers. Got to feed them and make them happy.

So just ignore all the throws behind the receiver and the ones they have to slow way down to try and have it come near them.? If so then yes, you are spot on

Watched several other games, and their receivers consistently made those type of catches.
I’ve watched several games over the last 45 Years and they consistently drop as many as they catch.
But that’s neither here nor there.
Every pass of those “types “ is a little different from the next. Half inch here, half inch there, Joe throws a 104 mile per hour fastball and most others under 100.

Step up to plate and try to hit a Ben Joyce 104 Mph fastball and a normal 97 Mph fastball.
Don’t look much different from my couch but I’ve got a feeling it is. What you think?

I don't know what game you watched, but Joe threw it behind or over the receivers half the time they went downfield. HOWEVER, If Keyton catches that bomb, things would have gone totally different, but is Joe that fragile? Hope not, the swamp is not for the faint of heart (or mind) DROPS were a factor too, Keyton, Small & Thornton. "Do your Job"!

Joe hit him in the hands with a ball that DT dropped in the first half (it was a pretty nice play by Joe).. don’t believe DT played in the second half

I saw him drop two, both of them right in the breadbasket, in the first half. I don’t think he saw the field after that.

He has been in college for a long time. He has already become what he is going to be.

I was so hopeful Joe had overcome his issues. I still hope that. It would be sad to bench him AGAIN. Sports Psychologist??? The Guy was the Star at the Manning Camp, dangit.
