Joe isn't the most disappointing on the team

I'm not being a troll. I wanted JG to succeed but he just wasn't good. It is okay to say I'm disappointed if someone isn't living up to expectations. There is a reason DT didn't play in the second half. The coaching staff saw it too
Oh, that wasn’t at you, it was more a general statement for those calling for Milton’s benching.

Maybe not, but let's be real here. The ball isn't in Thornton's hands every play. For us to succeed, the QB has to perform well.
Sure…we expect QB1 to be near perfect and make plays happen. Shouldn’t we expect the same from the WR. Joe has to dial it in…Joe threw some bad balls to Bru and White, be an athlete and make the play. Are we past the saying “if it hit you in the hands”?

The gameplan for these first two games were so limited, it put the WRs and TEs in very unforgiving spots to catch passes. The bubble screens have been the only uncontested balls, except for three long passes.

There is not showing your hand, and there is play calling so tight you are handcuffing your offense. Our passing game looked handcuffed the entire game.
The play calling gave our receivers no chance to use their superior skills and talent to beat APSU's defense.

Castle's nice reception and the running game led to success.
Our passing game looked handcuffed mostly because of the passer

There’s a big difference if you’re running full speed across the middle and you have to reach back as far as you can for it to hit you in the hands and having to reach up or out in front with your momentum going towards the ball.
So yeah just because it hits your hands doesn’t mean it’s catchable.

DT, Squirrel and Bru were limited in practice this week. We need those guys to get five full days this week to get timing right. We were just off in chemistry and timing.
And that timing takes time to learn. And it can only be perfected in game speed situations. Practices and scrimmages won’t do that.
Milton sort of has that timing down with Bru and Squirrel. Thornton especially will just take time. Keyton is the big unknown so far. He has shown moments of brilliance interspersed with inexplicable drops.

Which goes back to the point of athletes making plays happen.

To be fair, it’s only been a couple weeks and he hasn’t had many throws go his way. Also, dropping easy ones significantly reduces your time on the field.

Amazing people on here thinking the QB needs to be perfect and giving the receivers all the breaks. No QB is perfect. Hooker over threw an open WR in the 3 rd quarter of the Bama game last year that would have been a sure TD. These receivers are doing Milton no favors.

There is plenty of blame to go around for yesterday. It's not easy to find a positive aspect to take away from the game. We looked terrible on both sides of the ball, at every unit. That game was incredibly discouraging.

I want to believe we are a better team than this ... Maybe we were looking ahead? Unmotivated to play the opponent? It's strange that those things would happen in the home opener, though ... I'm naturally optimistic, so I will go with one of those two excuses for now.

I said the same thing last game. Joe is always late with his throws. He waits until the receivers are wide open before throwing it. By then it’s to late. You have to have anticipation and throw the receiver open. He had two balls last night that if he had been on time with that our receivers would still be running with after the catch.

Watched several other games, and their receivers consistently made those type of catches.

When you look at Heupel’s career when it come to QBs…whether as an OC or a HC…he has worked with a lot of different types of QBs with a lot of different strengths and weaknesses…he has led them all to some level of success…the one thing that everyone of them has had in common that I have yet to see with Milton…accuracy

I just don’t know if that can be fixed…not after this much time and he still doesn’t have it…he also doesn’t seem to make quick decisions either which is another requirement in this (or any) O…

Long story short…my expectations for this season are still the same…the O will struggle compared to the last two years but will be above average…the D will be substantially better…and that trade off will lead to a similar but probably lower win total this year
