Joel Klatt says Vols might be left out playoffs for Bama

The committee is desperate to get Bama in, but no way they are doing that. UT is set other than maybe moving up if PSU gets beat bad enough.

When I saw this I initially thought this thread was started a couple weeks ago.

That is the dumbest take in a series of dumb takes! I

Hopefully Clemson wins on a last second field goal and bama gets bumped!

Who knew that something as simple as a 12-team CFP format could expose fans inability to read, listen, comprehend, and integrate?

Joel Klatt isn’t stupid enough to think that. Ergo, either he has zero integrity and will say literally anything for clicks, or OP was hearing the voices in his own head and confused it with what the podcast hosts were saying.

I was listening to the Joel klatt podcast and in last nights episode he said if Clemson beats SMU that SMU would stay in and Vols would likely be left out for bama to get in. Do you guys think that’s possible?
Are you making fun of this Klatt guy? Surely you’re not listening to someone that desperate for attention for another reason.

Umm, if he really said that, the answer is no. Tennessee beat Bama straight up and Bama would also have an additional loss.

Talking about: (a) the fans (b) the playoff committee (c) all of the above?

It's actually surprising to me that this line of thinking is not more commonplace. UT's resume is not that impressive. Managed to avoid Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, Missouri, Ole Miss and USC. Played most of the bottom feeders in the SEC and lost to one of them. Best win is over a team that NOBODY on this forum wants in the tournament because they are not worthy. And got stomped by UGA. What separates UT from Miami? SMU? Head to head does give them a slight edge over Bama although Bama has much better wins than UT. Everything is so subjective.

Who knew Klatt had a podcast?
Toddlers toss toys for attention.
Podcasters toss bad takes for attention.
Both should be ignored or put in time out.

Mods, please ban this obvious Bammer troll. Guess what, dumbass: we beat you. You lost to two teams that we dominated. Please take a very long walk off a very short pier.

Just watched some of Klatt’s episode last night. He said absolutely nothing about Tennessee being left out, because it is not anywhere within the realm of possibility. He projected that SMU would be left out in favor of Bama if they lose the ACC championship game.

So you honestly wanna question a 10-2 UT team that has the head to head victory over the 9-3 Gumps if we’re gonna get passed up? Not only no, but hell no.

That would require SMU, Indiana and Alabama ALL jumping TN. SMU after losing a game and Indiana and Alabama while both idle and Manual stating there would be “no movement between teams not playing“. The whole system would collapse……
And on top of that, Tennessee beat 'bama this season. How could that scenario even be considered?

No way a 3 loss Bama could knock out a 2 loss Tennessee especially when the Vols won the head to head. The committee would be disband. Now no doubt they want Bama in bad. What cracks me up is them saying same loss teams that head to head matters. But in 2022 it didn’t when they had Bama 5th and the Vols 6th and Vols won head to head with the same record. And if somebody had lost in front of them Tennessee was fixing to get screwed. GBO

I believe the earth would physically shake with angry vol fans if this were to happen.

But there's no way it does. Not with us winning the head to head and having one less loss than them.
