If whoever Phil Fulmer hires wins they will get the support of Tennessee fans. If they don't win the Tennessee fans will be on their case until they're fired 4-5 years later.

Lawson's resume looks just like KJH's, EXCEPT one actually has 15 years of coaching experience. Do people not think KJH could have been a brilliant color analyst if she went that route? Lawson is obviously very intelligent, but do fans think she is THAT much more knowledgeable about the game than KJH? Why are fans clamoring for Kara? KJH wouldn't be my choice, but Lawson is even worse. Be smarter...

KJH vis a vis Kara, no WNBA career and title; no USA experience and gold medals; no career in broadcasting; So, upon closer inspection their resumes do not look exactly alike.

But, coaching and coaching success often comes down to individual qualities. Was CPS really that much better of an "X and O" master than her competitors or did she have other intangible factors that set her apart?

In Kara, a lot of people see that intangibility quality (I am one) that was for example, sorely lacking in Holly. We could all be wrong but we might be right.

There is risk in Lawson for sure compared to the known quality of KJH but as a coach, she also seems to be a mid pack level coach so Lawson offers the high risk high reward option.

Sounds a lot like Stephanie White, except she actually had WNBA coaching experience. Make her head coach, put former head coaches on her staff. What could go wrong?

Different people can generate different outcomes.

Dawn Staley had no coaching experience before immediately turning Temple around.

Carolyn Peck won a freakin' NC at Purdue and then bombed big time at Florida.

Choosing a coach is far from an exact science.

But we will see soon enough who actually gets the job; this thread may well prove to be a moot issue.

Lawson, Harper, Blake, Ivey, (and a dozen others)all would be great hires IF they hire the right assistants/recruiters. Hopefully it will be done this week

I would be for Kara,and willing to deal with what ever that brings.She has a nation wide rep. with WBB,therefore able to get the attention of top recruits.If she can get top recruits,she has half the battle won.She knows basketball inside out,and I believe she could pick out some top assistants to help her.The only unknown is, can she coach on gameday?
