If we are going to drop big money on a new coach and it is going to be in the 5-6 million dollar range, go after Saban and make him tell you no. That way you know what you are getting.

Saban is not even a possibility, which is why I've never given him a second thought, out of the question.

Gruden will work just fine for me.

No to Saban and Saban disciples. He is to be driven out of the conference by Gruden.

Not going to happen. Bama would match or exceed any offer.

Where would 3.5 place a coach on the list of starting salaries? How much did Bama pay Saban starting out? He makes 5.3 now, after 2 NCs.

Pay 5 mil for Gruden, make him 2nd highest paid coach, when he hasn't proven he can coach the college game?

I think he would absolutely flourish as a college coach.

You gotta think of the staff he would be able to assemble as well.

You're right about the starting salary but why pay a lesser coach ( still a good coach ) in hopes he does it big and reward him later when you can just get what is conceivably one of the best coaches in all of football?

And Bama would match any offer. Not happening.

Saban is a hired gun, Knoxville is much nicer than Tuskaloosa, Money talks!!

You are joking right? He could be going for his 3rd Crystal Ball in 4 years.

Saban would work better

At some point and time people will figure out what some already knew, no such thing as value for Saban Disciples, it has always been Saban...Period!

But there is no way this happens. Some people think we are crazy for the stuff we say about Gruden coming to Tennessee. I can only imagine what they think of this. It's a nice idea. There is just no way. Plus , why would he want to start over when he has Bama loaded? The only place he is going is home (retirement) or to the NFL for a new challenge. It's the only thing left for him to prove. And I would like to see him gone from the SEC.

Could happen. Never know. His ego is so big, wouldn't surprise me that he would want to succeed in the NFL some day.

Hart knows Nick
Hart will need to make a big splash hire if it comes down to it, a Saban hire trumps any other coach in the business when it comes to a proven college winner.

Makes just as much sense as Gruden, big name, no college recruiting or head coaching experience. Yes I know he coached in the NFL, Yes I know he won A SB, Yes I know he married a UT Cheerleader, Yes I remember the one year he was here, Yes I know his mother-n-law lives in Jefferson City, Yes I know he is obsessive, Yes I know he is a name that young players are familiar with, but given those things he has yet to prove to me that he is the next Saban. I think he acts like a man that is psycho when he coaches and makes Muschamp look like a rookie.
