Dooley's answer: according to the process we're still in progress of constant improvement everyday.

And it's gonna be the same thing if he's here next year..We are sitting at sub-500 the first 4 games, it's gonna be the same BS...Probably bring up the bamboo and how tall it's getting, new showering techniques, new checkerboard orange pants instead of the solid ones, new hairdo, etc.

Agreed, can the Dools and the orange pants too.

What about in say, 3 years?

First recruiting class from DD was a lot of Kiffin recruits, last 2 seasons are DD's. Kiffins first signed class were a lot of flops and no longer part of the team. Bray has been the best of the Kiffin recruits who has not flopped, team chemistry from three different signing classes has had an impact on the field as well.

Not making excuses, just stating facts that some may not agree with but if you have ever been part of one team and then suddenly another boss to learn and adjust to comes onboard and then wham another boss a year later, makes for a hard adjustment in the business world and for a team.

Just got off the phone with a very important person..He said that if/when Gruden is hired to be UT's coach, he don't give a damn about watering bamboo, how his players shower b/c a shower is a shower, wearing orange pants, or how his hair looks..The only thing he cares about is producing championship teams...Oh, and he said that we better have a freakin' headset that works.:dance2:

So are we gonna beat SCe, and UF next year? His first class will be Juniors by then. Saban did it in 3, and he learned under him.

The same way we make fun of the faces on Muschamp, other fans will do the same and our own fans will grow tired of the facial expressions if he was to ever be the HC coach here.
This is the most solid reasoning to not hire him that I have heard yet.

Probably not but Gruden is not going to lead us to victory next year either. Neither DD or Gruden is the established college coach of Saban. If we are going to load up the Brinks truck to pay a coach, the BOT needs to tell Hart to drive it down to Tuscaloosa and come back with Saban. There is no risk in the hire, he is proven and let's face it, Knoxville runs rings around that sorry town. People say he can't be bought, I don't believe it.

All we would accomplish is getting Saban a raise. They would match any offer we made.

But Saban has never won a super bowl like Gruden has.

Saban is also 61 years old. He has some years left in him , but I can't see him rebuilding another college team. If he leaves Bama , it's for the NFL. It's his only challenge left.

Can't put a price on how much better Knoxville is than Tuscaloosa and final decision will be with Saban and Hart knows Saban.

G, I live in Bama, It's not going to happen. Doesn't matter what the differences in the towns are like. Saban has total control of his football team and everything that goes along with it. He can do anything in the state of Alabama he wants to. I mean that people down here have stickers on their cars of a Superman symbol that says,"The Coach" underneath it. He will not leave Bama for any other college job.

If Saban does decide to leave for another job it will be in the NFL b/c he still has to prove that he can coach in that league.:wink2:

Spurrier is 67, your point?

If you think 61 years old is to old to rebuild another college team it sure as hell is to old to rebuild an NFL team especially since people like to point out he struggled in the NFL.

His age has nothing to do with it, stop fooling yourself. The likelihood of Gruden being hired and staying here any length of time. If I had to choose between Gruden or Saban leading our program the next 5 years, Saban wins everytime.
