You can quit the facade. You have been in so many threads concerning CDD and getting gruden its become comical. Let me be point blank - your hero is not coming to UT. CDD will be here for AT LEAST through this year and next year.At least my puny brain comprehends. Yours doesn't.

I've stated multiple times that I doubt Gruden would take the job, but it's not totally impossible, and the people who are saying that he does have interest are alot more respected on this board than you are. Stop acting like you know CDD's timeline, and why are you accusing me of lying about my own thought process? Why would i want Tennessee to lose? I'm trying to tell you i hope CDD proves me wrong, but so far he hasn't done anything to prove that, what's so wrong with that kind of reasoning?

Popeye is getting to you.

There's nothing wrong with your reasoning. I think the basic thought behind the pro-Dooley stance is that it will set the program back (recruiting, media, etc.) if he's fired in the first 4-5 years.

I think the basic thought behind the fire Dooley camp is that, even though recruiting and depth are slowly improving, we seem to be regressing on the field. No significant improvement = don't delay the inevitable and make another, bigger hire. Pull the band-aid off fast rather than slow.

I can understand why the "pro Dooley" camp would think that because there's always a chance that the next guy could be another bad hire. I'm going to take a page from orangeslice's book and say that i'm posting what i think will happen, not what i want to happen. I think that Dooley can't cut it in the SEC judging by what we've seen so far, but unless Gruden would take the job, give him a little more time to prove doubters wrong. I hope he can do it.

Long time solid and credible posters on other sites are posting the Gruden stuff. They think Gruden as our next coach is probable, though not a lock.

Jay , based on what you say is out there , in your opinion , is Tennessee interested in Gruden as of NOW like some are saying with this "big things happening behind the scenes"?

Will it work out? Don't know, but a two-way courtship has begun, maybe.

There once was a dream of Tennessee football and being great. It has become but a whisper, but it can be true again.

Nothing's impossible when it comes to football. Even win a game and the "Dooley Suck's" crowd comes out in force simply because we didn't win it "big" enough. Our team is 3-1. Yup, it's early in the season but you guys are already talking about a different coach. Immature at best, downright foolish in my book. How about this - UGA vs Vandy had 85,000. LSU vs Barn, 90,000. UT vs Akron - 81,000. Surprising numbers considering how sucky a few think our coach is.

CDD has been coach for two seasons and four games. In all fairness, I firmly believe our head coach should at the least - the VERY least - get 3 full seasons before people start mouth fisting themselves and pretty much demanding we change coaches - again. Considering the condition of the program when CDD took over, year 5 should be the hard judgment year.

Right there with you. My prediction is also based on what I think is going to happen, not what I want to see happen. It's assinine for anyone to think that someone wants UT (Dooley) to fail. It's unfortunate that the course of the program over the last 5 years has handcuffed us to a point where we have to endure mediocrity.

Okay it's a done deal. The other site said so. Wait a minute, what's this that it's not a lock? meltdown commence.

Prove it.

No....I can't. That doesn't mean what I've heard, and who I've heard it from aren't credible. There is smoke.....and some of it comes from Grudens own words. His interest in a college job is documented. He's been on UT's campus multiple times since the Dooley hire.

Much of the evidence is circumstantial. Much is hearsay from previously reliable sources, and some of it is verifiable information. Some more of it is wishful thinking.

What is not known, by me is the AD's position on it. One thing I feel strongly about is that money won't likely be the deciding factor. There is new blood in the AD, who have been at a school in our same situation, and was present when the homerun hire was made. They are now looking back at 2 National Championships in the last 5 years.

It's our turn.

There have been recent inquiries/communications- off the record. That's fact. Our TV mogul/booster is fed up by all accounts. Other big donors are as well. Will it work out? Don't know, but a two-way courtship has begun.

And to think I have been bashing Dish network since I got it. That probably won't change either way. lol

Look , I want to win every game we have on our schedule and I know you feel the same. But if things don't work out , I hope they bring him to Tennessee. Thanks for the info. :hi:

I agree that it's our turn. What I disagree with are - circumstantial - hearsay - wishful thinking. I also disagree with verifiable evidence simply because Gruden has never came out and said a thing about being the next coach at UT. And as far as we all know - Hart and UT are firmly behind CDD, or more than likely not willing to pay 5 mill as long as CDD does a serviceable job.

Do you think this coach (who is 0-11 against ranked teams) will go down to the swamp and win next year? How about year five back in Knoxville? He pretty much must win in Athens this week.

You'll find out after the South Carolina game.

Don't take what I'm saying the wrong way. I'm not trying to bash you when I asked. I just want to know. You hear "big things happening behind the scenes" and you get no answer of what. It's also a message board so you can't take this stuff seriously. And I'm not saying what you know isn't true. Can't blame me for being skeptical though.

Welcome. Not my info to be clear. But I trust the track record of the source without hesitation. No one is calling it a lock, but it's not an impossibility either.
