We're not getting Gruden. I haven't seen a single reputable media personality even give us a remote shot at getting Gruden. Wouldn't mind if I was wrong - would be great. But everything I've ever read on Gruden being a real possibility is nothing more than an internet rumor or a talking head trying to sell advertising space on a website or radio show.

If I were you and was thinking about Dooley being fired, I'd prepare myself for Kirby Smart or someone of that ilk. And go ahead and start thinking of another 2-3 years of rebuilding pains. Because that's the truth about what will happen if Dooley is fired.

Imagine walking by the magazine rack and seeing this. :)

Nope.

Mangini only got 2 years. And Shurmur was part of the epic brain trust that decided not to go all-in on the RG3 trade. Not great for the resume, especially when the "rookie" they drafted is older than Aaron Rodgers.

I completely understand. The point is they approached him concerning the UT job, not the Browns.

So your saying we should stay with Dooley and continue to fall backwards? No thanks, I've seen enough of Zero and everything with CDD.

So is there a point you want to make with this?

He talked to somebody that was there. It's a really impressive story.

I don't understand why you keep posting this? It says nothing about football. Just the fact that they celebrated their anniversary. I did notice the guy with the guitar had a Tennessee shirt on.

Yes....the Newport Mtn Gazette always gets the scoop.

Man you all sure are a sensitive bunch, there have been many more posters in this thread since I posted it "the one and only time" and just thought some might enjoy it.

Gruden did say the FFCA on his hat stood for
Former Fired Coaches Association, everyone got a laugh out of it.

It's a worthless fluff piece, that is relevant only in that you apparently spoke to someone who attended. It does nothing to bolster your story, and only goes to show that you know how to provide a link.

Well this makes two, so it wasn't "the one and only time."

You've tried to hold it as truth because somebody in the picture told you something.

Ainge had a big segment on this on his show this am, basically stating that the boosters were the ones that would foot the bill and we could pay $10million if we wanted to

From someone who knows none of the donors (me), I would think this HAS to be a true statement. I mean ... Haslem just shelled out over 1000 million ($1B) dollars for the freaking Browns. He could definitely put together a group of guys to shave off a few tiny millions for a coach here. The "we can't afford it" argument is ludicrous.

There's a lot of people on the sport's animal this morning calling in and saying Dooley needs more time and we just don't have the players especially on defense to compete with the top teams in the SEC. Well who's fault is that Dooley's, he's had 3 years to get players and he made the choice to hire Sal and switch the defensive scheme. If he gets another year considering the schedule and the players that might leave early it might be a tougher season than this one.

Wilcox leaving was not Dooley's choice.

Im not trying to argue with you. Just asking how you know he goes to work at 4 now. Like I said I'm all for gruden, is it not okay to have a little concern or should i just bow down to him now.

Its been reported in the media several times. There was a documentary, somebody provided a link earlier in this thread, and I've seen it in print media regarding Gruden.

Sorry if I seemed hostile. We've gotten a lot of the same objections in the course of 11k posts.

Have faith. The news is good.

Thanks boro-vol.

They are stating we are broke. Can't pay anyone. But at least one of their posters called the other ones out and told them tennessee has more money than God
And if Gruden wanted to go coach college ball it would be in Knoxville.

I hope they hire Lou Holtz again

Jon Gruden Right for Monday Night

One thing I know, nobody will work harder at his job than Gruden. He was famous for setting his alarm clock for 3:17 a.m. There was no good reason it was 3:17 as opposed to 3:19 a.m. As long as he got to the office in plenty of time to start breaking down tape, or whatever coaches do at 4 a.m.

After the Bucs fired him, Gruden still got up at 3:17 a.m. He would go to the offices of the Tampa Bay Storm, the city's Arena League team. Coach Tim Marcum gave him a key, and Gruden would study tape trying to teach himself the spread offense.

How many reposts have others made in this thread? I have stated numerous times that I am not out to do anything but talk to people I know and see if there was any substance to this rumor. For some reason you guys act like I am out to sabotage this movement. Hell it doesn't matter to me if he comes or not, I simply reported my findings and you guys took it personal.

I will say this, if Gruden does not come, how foolish do you guys think you will look like. If he comes you guys will look like true insiders. For me I could care less if i'm seen as anything else other than a fan.

Cowboys are going to b looking for a coach also. It wouldn't surprise me to c Gruden go there.

Hey I'm all for Gruden... not sure how you know he hits the office at 4am though. I was just bringing up the point. I would love the hire.

When he was coaching there was a couple of stories about him going to work at 4am and sometimes working all night and sleeping on the couch in his office.

The money Tennessee makes with Gruden as coach will be out of this world. More merchandise sales, ticket sales, concessions, parking. The media attention will be Great and send a message we are still one of the top programs in college football. Gruden 2013 Hope

I hope he changes a few things. Did they pick their colors at random and go with it? Their whole theme is drab. Their logo.is a brown helmet. And their pink in there sheesh, been hard to watch them on highlights.
