Thanks boro-vol.

They are stating we are broke. Can't pay anyone. But at least one of their posters called the other ones out and told them tennessee has more money than God
And if Gruden wanted to go coach college ball it would be in Knoxville.

I hope they hire Lou Holtz again
Have faith....gonna be a long month.

When approached today reagrading the 10,000 posts on VN calling for Gruden to take over at UT....Chucky had this to say.

What you all are hearing is true.......I have property in Seiver County, and plan to build a t-shirt stand there and will sell beef jerky and pipe dreams. Secondly, as you know I have the greatest job in the world...doing commentary for the NFL...hell, I make 50 grand every Sunday and I can say anything I want.

So...VN, stop your bickering, and get behind Coach Dooley, he's a great man and coach, he has inherited a bottom feeding program. UT will rise like a Pheonix....give Coach Dooley a chance. Hell, the way you all act, I would never consider taking over that job...grow a pair folks.

Even you Grudenites have to admit that's funny....or maybe factual, LOL!

VFL...GBO!!!

Not funny.

Dooley is done. It's over. He's a terrible coach. I don't even think he's that good of a person. I do think he runs a clean program though. And quite honestly I find it very offensive and the height of disrespect to call UT a bottom-feeding program. After all the namecalling and insinuations of hating the program directed towards the negavols over the last 3 years, referring to the Vols as a "bottom-feeding program" is the epitome of hatefulness. It's worse than anything I have ever heard a negavol say and more damaging to the program to boot. UT is not in any way, shape, or form a "bottom-feeding program". That reference is the height of defeatism and ignorance.

pretty odd stand to take when you said Dooley is not even "that good of a person" in the same post.

why is gruden going to an "office" at 4am everyday? he just provides commentary for a football game on monday night.
If you have HBO do yourself a favor and watch the episode of Real Sports, they interview Gruden . It was on a month or two back , it will answer all of your questions.

I feel like a broken record concerning this topic...

Listen, it's fine to be skeptical on the hire. If I didn't know better I'd be skeptical too but the reality is:

1. The writing is on the wall concerning Dooley
2. It's not 100% Gruden is coming here
3. UT and Gruden are highly interested in one another and listening

Now, let's cross our fingers, toes, and eyes in hopes that Gruden says "I'll do it."

That's what I'm talking about. The argument about Gruden not coaching in college is foolish. It's a new challenge.

I'm asking this because I don't know but how many coaches have a sb ring and a college football championship ring?

What's up with the big smiley DTO ? I wanna know lol
Me too!

Its been reported in the media several times. There was a documentary, somebody provided a link earlier in this thread, and I've seen it in print media regarding Gruden.

Sorry if I seemed hostile. We've gotten a lot of the same objections in the course of 11k posts.

No hard feelings, glad to hear he is working that hard still. Now lets hope Hart can get him here.

Jimmy Johnson and Barry Switzer are the only two I believe.

2, Switzer and J. Johnson

Since this is a thread about a former NFL coach coming to UT, I'll ask this here. Why isn't Bill Cowher ever mention? I can take a few guesses why myself, but this rarely stops someone from speculating on an available coach. I get that he never coached in college, and has (from what I know) zero ties to UT, but I've never seen him so much as mentioned as a possibility. For the record, I don't think he is one either, but surely someone would have mentioned him since he's "just" a studio analyst. Is it something he has said?

He has been mentioned....just not this time. Also has property nearby.
