The Bucs led that SB 27-3 before the Bucs defense scored any points. The D scored 21 of the 48, and their scores put the game away, but it's not like the Bucs were being shut down all day, only to be saved by the defense.

And, this is from Brad Johnson's Wiki page:

"That year Johnson also became the first ever Bucs QB to lead the NFC in passer rating at 92.9, and set new team records for touchdowns with 22, completion percentage at 62.3, consecutive passes without an interception with 187, and lowest interception percentage with 1.3%. He was NFC Offensive Player of the Week twice again against Minnesota and Atlanta."

22 TD's is tearing it up. Manning farts 22 TD's before noon. :)

It's like Pitino giving Wade Houston his vote of confidence.

Yeah. Personally, I want opposing fans to hate UT's coach's guts. I mean blind unadulterated hatred. You know yku have a keeper then. The "he's a good guy" crap is the kiss of deatb.

They likely added plenty of TDs on the ground, as if averaging more than one passing TD per game with a very low INT % sucks.

Their defense has more INT's, than Johnson had TD passes though. He went a long time without throwing an INT, but they still didn't score a whole lot. They even ranked in the bottom half the league in offense that year.

And we suck at both. Have for years now.

This is still an old school league too. That's why I would rather have Strong. He's a defensive guy, and I believe he would hire the right guy to coach offense. He landed Teddy Bridgewater at freaking Louisville, for crying out loud.

They were 18th in the NFL in points scored out of 32 teams. That sounds average. It appears they were weighed down by a running game that was 27th and, to my surprise, only scored 6 TDs on the ground all season.

They committed the 6th-fewest turnovers in the NFL. That right there was the winning offensive formula for a team with a great defense.

I think most coaches' successes can be at least somewhat pinned on a great player or coordinator though.

How many wins and titles would Belichick have without Brady? But, what if Tennessee could get him?

Actually, combining Belichick with UT's sports video staff would make us unstoppable.
