Jones flips Foreman from Vandy to Vols!!!

Guys, its pretty simple. This guy is one of the better players in the state, so its a no brainer that we welcome him with open arms. This is how you create relationships for future instate players that may be more highly rated. Its called building a pipeline. IMO we should go after the top 10 or 15 players in the state every year regardless of their star rating. Chances are we would only land 4-8 of them anyway. Apparently Butch Jones was serious about building a fence around Tennessee, so you guys better get used to it. Its a good thing, like it or not.

Well stated!!! We need all the good in- state players that we can get. Welcome aboard mr foreman!

The top 15 players in the state of Tennessee can help us. There a very, very few years when the 15th ranked player in the state isnt good enough to play in the SEC especially when they become juniors and seniors. JMO

Point taken. I wasn't thinking reasonably.

No you do not go after them just because they are from your home state. If you don't think they can help you, you don't go after them. I don't care if they live within walking distance of neyland stadium. You offer guys that you think can help.

This is not towards any player, just to your comment that we should go after the top 15 in the state regardless.

Agree, like the Central kid from last year, and the Bearden kid from two years ago. Good kids I am sure but not SEC material. I do agree w getting the BEST the state has to offer but not signing kids just because they are from Tennessee. GO VOLS!

It's obvious that he's an east Tn guy that wanted to go to UT but never got an offer from Dooley. CBJ offered and he gets to go to his dream school. How is this a bad thing for anyone? Vandy could get a 3 or 4 star guy to replace him I imagine. Bump this in 2016 and we'll have our answer. Until then let's support Butch by believing in the guys he brings in!

Im with u.... n good to see that fans of other teams understand that you shouldn't be battling with vandy for football recruits... The problem we have is that ut spirit has been broken n now accept 3 star recruits as the savior to our program..

In today's world of cfb how many 170 lb CB do u see starting for top programs?????? Maybe a special teams player at best..

Alabama - Blue - 179lb
Notre Dame - Russel - 182lb
Notre Dame - Jackson - 185lb
Florida - Purifoy - 183lb
Florida - Roberson - 184lb
Georgia - Smith - 176lb
Texas A&M - Everett - 170lb
Texas A&M - Harris - 160lb
I could go on and on but that should be enough.
Biggest gap is 15 lbs and that can be made up easy in college if you want him that big.

You da man!!!

I attended all DBs home games this year. These kids ( Foreman & Swafford) were DB football. They are both incredible athletes. Without them DB is a .500 team at best. They will both contribute to the program.

I thought I was a nega at times. Some of you guys put me to shame. So because he is from TN and was only a Vandy commit he is not worth taking? Really?

Some of you same nega posters, if you will check your past posts, were happy to get R-Jones and Sutton as DBs. Yet they have the same rating of 5.6 - 3*. Malik is faster than both of them as well as being more versatile on the return game. He weighs less, but that is not as big a deal at the corner. He will gain 10 lbs of muscle and be fine.

Apparently the state is loaded next year so now would be a good time to start building that fence.

I think that is the important part! I doubt this player ever sees the field. This is more of a physiological pickup. TN recruiting has to learn to walk before they can run. BJ can now say he's winning the state in recruiting AND he's beating out Vandy, and that's the first step in regularly beating KY and Vandy on the field.

I promise you he will see the field. Sapp was a two star prospect and has a chance to start at LB as a senior for us. This kid has tons of speed in a position of need for us. He'll play special teams and learn the DB spot. If we somehow land huge players next year at DB then we can always move him to slot WR.

Alot of ppl on here neev to research these two and watch their film on youtube. No doubt Foreman is faster but i think with a few yrs in Knoxville Swafford is going to be the steal. He is a great running back and corner. Against Maryville Swafford had all tds an kept them in the gm his self.
