This automatically had my brain going....why no more coach Z? Just for this kid or is Z on the way out?

Payton continued to build a bond with Azzanni, saying, “He’s cool. I love him. He’s a cool guy. I feel like if I got to Tennessee he’s a great coach and he’ll get me ready for the next level.”

With needs along the defensive line and at tailback, Tennessee has just one spot for a receiver. Maybe. Even that isn’t a foregone conclusion. But while 2017 spots are super tight, interestingly, the Vols didn’t discuss numbers with Payton.

“No. They’ve talked to me about playing my freshman year when I come in,” Payton said. “But they haven’t really told me how many positions they have open or receivers spots they have left.”

May not have been an "official" visit. If he paid his own way to come this past weekend, BS is still an option. If the coaches visit him at home, he can't BS tho.

Kid is definitely NOT taking a PWO when he has other really good offers out there that are legitimate and committable. UT's offer was a BlueShirt offer with grades being a factor.

His grades are there and will be a qualifier. Gonna be a battle with MTSU/Ole Miss/Purdue along with the Vols.. Relationships with current UT commits & players definitely puts the Vols in play

Good for him. Hope he is a vol. I like him better than our WR commits not named Jordan murphy

I have a good feeling we could beat out MTSU, Purdue, and Ole Miss. Ole Miss is the only one we need to worry about, but they have a lot going on right now. He is still scheduled to visit them on the 27th so you never know.

Didn't like him at first but his senior year showed a ton of improvement and that speed showed up more than his Jr year. I would like to keep him. I just think Payton is very underrated because of the expectation that grades would be tough. Kid has the tools

lots of ppl on here didnt like him bc of his rating, which is dumb in the first place. The kid can play. They didnt like Solon Page either and then he got a bump. Now they love him. Thats just the type of characters we have on here. Gotta be told what to think.

WR recruiting is going to be interesting with who is in the class. Multiple rumors of grade issues. If Payton's grades are good to go then he may get the nod over a guy that is currently committed that doesn't look like they will make it in. Hang on. The ride could get bumpy for the next couple of weeks.

This kid has a similar skill set to Murphy. Wish we could offer a spot straight up.
