Different type of receiver, Payton is fast and explosive, a down field threat that could play some slot while Harris is a big physical possession type guy that could win the jump ball situations and big a big red zone target.

Different style WRs, right? Harris is a big body guy.


FWIW, we've not had so much success with that type of WR under Butch. I kind of think landing smaller, more agile guys who are coachable are a better fit for this offense than guys who are just big and able to run and win jump balls.

Payton is faster and probably the better athlete. Harris is much more polished at receiver. If I had to choose between the two I would pick Harris because we need immediate help at the position since Malone is likely leaving

Hopefully Hillsboro still likes us. We haven't done the greatest job taking care of the ones sent to us so far.

How do you figure that, Phillips will be starting next season and Perry decided grades weren't important. Payton is ours if we want him.

Because we only have room for one receiver and Harris is the main target although I wouldn't mind dropping Jacquez Jones and taking Payton if his grades were ok.

Probably more referring to the fact that Walter Fisher and Gordon didn't exactly set the world on fire. Gordon's play against Vandy notwithstanding.

Fisher went JUCO first.

Gordon was a pretty decent player for us.

Harris likely is a buckeye. If Payton has his grades in order is he a Vol? GFW or anybody think he ends up here? I really think he could be good for us.

I'm very aware of the first. I Would respectfully disagree with second. I'm not the one necessarily saying that players from that school have underperformed. I Was just commenting that it's poss the previous poster wasn't referring to Phillips or Perry.
