Self preservation? Grouping yourself with like people extends that preservation.

Unless you hang out with a well diverse group of people you are prejudiced. Do you hang out in the housing projects? The trailer park? The art museums? Fashion shows?

I think you should re read the definition of prejudice. I don't have to hang out in every town on earth in order to not be prejudiced.

Who do you associate with? Why do you associate with them and not others? I didn't say every town on earth. But I guarantee you I can look at your associations and see your preferences. Where do you think that leads? You prefer certain groups for some reason. I'm sure you have biases, dislikes, _______phobic or whatever adjective you want to call it.

Scientific researchers specializing in human sexuality have shown that homosexuality is genetic. I am unaware of any study that has ever suggested that sexual orientation is a choice.

The evidence is non-conclusive. Most of the studies have poor controls. Most of the major psychological, psychiatric, and medical groups have basically come to a conclusion of no conclusion. There are indications of possible genetic and environmental causes but all legit orgs all back away from anything conclusive.

Not really. Why are the parents not gay? Or their parents?

Under that premise, everyone is born with the ability to be gay, but most choose not to be I assume.

Or bisexual? If sexual preference is genetic where is the specific limit to that preference? And is it limited to humans? Because you open the door for sexual preference of children, animals, etc. I know this will cause all sorts of wild comments, but you cannot open the door for genetic sexual preferences but only allow the boundaries to be male and female of the same species in adult form.

Also, what of those who are bisexual? Are you saying the preference is defined as no preference? Or those who do the "college experiment"? Or those who clearly have preferred one gender at one point and switched back at another point?

There are studies that show mothers who are on high levels of estrogen and other hormonal treatments are more likely to have a child with homosexual tendencies. This would equate homosexuals from this source as to babies born with FAS from mothers who drink.

If you look at studies done between the umbrella groups like AMA and APA you see all sorts of conclusions. Both groups tend to steer conclusions in different directions but even within, they are not all consistent.

I did think this quote interesting:
