I actually enjoy telling people Happy Juneteenth!I won't gaf anymore about this than I do Kwaanzaa. I won't be celebrating anything unless there is some government office I need and it is actually open. But that is way too much to ask.
Edit: Well that was fast
Federal employees to get Friday off for new ‘Juneteenth’ holiday
And why is it called the "National Independence Day Act"?
That's partially true.No one every heard about this until a year or maybe two ago. Just like the Tulsa thing.
I still don't care about either.
Time heals all wounds? Unless people keep picking at the scabs to keep it going.
How would you like the demand to be packaged? Like you just want Biden to publicly call for the end of sex slavery?
What makes you say they are ignoring it? Have they diverted funds away from existing programs for combatting sex trafficking, or something?
Acknowledge & address it with the other leaders in the world would be a start.
Yes, diverting funds from border security promotes it. Biden’s open borders policy supports the Cartel that promotes child sex trafficking. Many of these children are sold by their parents in Central America to mules who act as parents to bring to the US. We only catch a fraction of children smuggled in during this crisis. The cartel can only sell a drug once but they can sell children multiple times. It’s a sick world out there.
That's not really the point I was making. A lot of us see ourselves as part of a victimized group, whether we think there is a war on Christianity or that we're the target of racial discrimination. I chose not to be Mormon and that's got to have something to do with the reason I don't carry it. Slavery was infinitely worse than what happened to my Mormon ancestors, and they can't just stop being black.
So the point is, it's actually pretty understandable that a large part of the black community still carries it in a very heavy way. White Christians will line up to tell you that blacks interested in criminal justice reform need to stop being victims, but they'll just nod their heads when their pals talk about how unfair media is to Christians.
It's in our nature to be victims and/or to be more tolerant of the victims with whom we identify.
Sigh. Straight up DA to refer to a 150 year old phrase has hood rat jive. The only real con to this is referring to it as Juneteeth. That's some straight up uneducated hood rat jive talk.
"National Independence Day" is stupid too, but I wouldn't really expect anything else from PedoJoe signing something that was rushed faster than his prune juice barreling towards his colon...but its just semantics.
Hopefully the PedoJoe administration will keep its focus on eliminating the racially based federal holiday disparity in this country so we can all begin to heal.
Presidents always get the blame and the praise. Was Reagan great or his congress? Was Carter bad or his congress? Bush 1 or 2? Clinton? Obama? Ready to make those same excuses for each?Maybe Trump's tenure was more about what wasn't done to us than what was done to us. A lot of this nonsense went away while Trump was president - probably because the dems were too busy trying to impeach him. I think perhaps you are forgetting that congress legislates - a president can prompt them to act - maybe they will and maybe they won't. Republicans didn't hold majorities in both houses of congress and lock dems out to carry out a Trump agenda - like dims did obamaCare. The truth was Trump wasn't an insider and nobody in congress was particularly fond of him - we need more of that. The simple fact is there are plenty of real things to deal with - pandering to groups to curry favor is wasted time ... and money.
well OK thenPresidents always get the blame and the praise. Was Reagan great or his congress? Was Carter bad or his congress? Bush 1 or 2? Clinton? Obama? Ready to make those same excuses for each?
Willing to bet you arent.
Who is in charge matters. There is a reason the presidency is considered the highest office.
And no it didnt stop under trump. Remember the riots last summer? Worse than anything under Obama. Or what about the bump stock ban, was that a pause in the gun grabber scheme?
Trump sucked, stopped pretending otherwise. And the otherwise lame excuse of the guy sucking more. Has nothing to do with how much Trump sucked.
