Pretty sure every candidate the Rs have run has seen this same "champion" label slapped on them. Romney and McCain, bush 2. All were savors of the cause. Until.....Trump.That's usually what happens when moderation or capitulation end. Trump jumped on the concept of fighting the left fringe to gain favor much like Reagan used the moral majority. Sometimes you have to step away from normal duties to go fight a fire. Too bad it took someone like Trump to champion the fight against leftist stupidity.
Do we have a national hymn? I mean before this? Seems at odds with the no religion bit.Representative G. K. Butterfield, Democrat of North Carolina, led lawmakers in singing, “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” a song which is often referred to as the Black national anthem.
Representative James E. Clyburn of South Carolina, the No. 3 House Democrat, said he would push for the song to be designated as America’s “National Hymn.” Biden Signs Bill Making Juneteenth a Federal Holiday
Nice, now replace the Star Spangled Banner
Multigenerational trauma is a real thing.
But it's not. At least the day off work.Simple. If a holiday is about a day in history because it has significance, then it should be celebrated on that date.

Trump didnt actually fight the issues. He ranted on Twitter and then turn around and spent worse than Obama for three years until Covid happened and gave him the excuse to sign even more outrageous budgets.
What was fighting the left in the bump stock ban?
Trump talked, he didnt do.
5 or 6 generations back, my family was displaced because of religious persecution and they still carry that. But it looks like that brand of victimhood is dying with my generation (at least in my Mom's lineage because none of her kids are religious anymore).
BIDEN: Juneteenth is "a day in which we remember the moral stain and the terrible toll that slavery took on the country—and continues to take." which can be exploited for my own political gain
Oh yes, poor white people. Stop bringing up the sh** they did for hundreds of years because damn it they are sure tired of hearing about it! THINK OF THE WHITE PEOPLE!
Never heard of Juneteenth until we moved to coastal Mississippi. Absolute blast of a block party on our street every year (we were the only white family on that road). Learned about it from the neighbors.
To those with ancestors who were slaves, this is a very important holiday. I am glad they can celebrate, and am glad we are recognizing it nationwide.
After all: Texas knew about abolition, but didn't do **** to conform until the military showed up with the official proclamation.
