Trump was never held accountable by the Rs.

They completely abandoned their conversation values for him. On matters of family, guns, and government spending.
Trump is just one guy and I think you saw more Republicans jump ship than you do Democrats when something ever comes to light about racism or Covid coverups and sexual misconduct, and that’s just Cuomo. There’s a list of things constantly excused or swept under the rug that if a republican ever did they would be burned at the stake for.

So since school districts are diluting the naming of holidays to prevent hurt feelings now I imagine we will be consistent and just list this as “day off” … right?

Didnt that R Bama senator or governor get elected after it came out he was a child molester?

I think there is a lot of confirmation bias that goes into the partisan views that the other party is the bad one.

Your school district in session this time of year?
There are always summer sessions for makeups are there not? And I’m pretty sure the published school calendar is a 12 month calendar.

Edit: yes here the school districts publish a 12 month calendar I googled DISD’s calendar.

But the double standard is not even close. The current group of Democrats, if you want to call them that is the most hypocritical group of people in the world .
They definitely are….. it’s why I use to be a republican….. even if I didn’t agree with them…..they at least stood for something…… Democrats pretend that stand for things but really stand for nothing but power and votes….Democrats are very divisive and tearing America apart.

Obviously ending slavery was good, but the timing of this in our current cultural climate signals capitulation to or pandering to the woke mob. I'm with you that it should have been a holiday all along, but I have a feeling that doing it this way at this time will only be used by the progressives as a tool to remind us all of how horrible and oppressive the United States is. I think it will end up causing worse race relations than if it hadn't been done right now.

Jesus Christ. You guys are so obsessed with race and opposing the "woke mob" we can't even welcome good things that have almost nothing to do with wokeness.

I understand that it’s hard not too when the pandering is non-stop.

We have 10,000 Fast and Furious movies. But not one about this man.

Yeah, movies about slavery don't make as much money as movies about "fambly". It's a great story, but the release of it in today's climate would be viewed as pandering to the woke mob.

There are some really good stories out there. I swear I read one that went back behind enemy lines and pulled the same stunt multiple times. I was thinking that was this one but the details were different so I am guessing there is another.

I’m just glad the Mel Brooks movie library was released when it was so that we have that classic comedy and humor to look back on. However the edited for TV versions would result in all of them being shown in one half hour sitting.

From my 3rd party perspective, it is about the same.
I think from my perspective historically it has been because Old Republicans were always touting this sense of morality, elitism and we’re the party of family values, this and that, and then someone gets popped having an affair or whatever else you could think of . Right now the Left seem to think they occupy some moral high ground where they constantly judge everyone based on their inclusiveness or how they treat a minority or someone within the LGBTQ community, basically everyone is categorized, but they never hold anyone accountable that breaks their made up rules. Northam, Cuomo, Lightfoot, Biden… it’s a long list of things that have occurred, that if it were a Republican they would be destroyed. I don’t think it’s a level playing field right now. I never meant to insinuate that Republicans are above it, or anyone for that matter, but that to me the Left is very hypocritical right now.
