I think anyone who can't spell "scenario" or "constitution" ought to reconsider questioning others' right to vote.

I think anyone threatening to move overseas and take their business elsewhere ought to reconsider sharing their vision of who should have the right to vote.

I think anyone who looks down on others as "not counting" based on income is an elitist prick who wouldn't know the concept of liberty if it bit him in the ass.

No. Capitalism on a large enough scale will always inherently produce a percentage of people who have no means of producing a subsistence for themselves. I know and embrace the power of the free market to produce, but also know and accept that this is a fact of life that comes with it. You give more of the pie to one person, then the rest will have that much less available to them.

More than that, it flies in the face of the development of the amendments, particularly the 24th. I know that one was used to eliminate barriers for the ability of the black community to vote, but either way, if you up the age to 30 you're discounting the opinions of all young people. I'm 23 and in spite of our disagreements I think you could find it reasonable to say that I've cast more well-informed ballots than, say, half a million other Americans over age 30 who have jobs.

Bottom line is that everybody has a stake in society, and everybody old enough to be at least capable (if not able) of making a well-informed decision has the right to a say in their government. To do otherwise would be encroaching on people's liberties and thus going backwards as a society.

I see your point. I still think 30 would change alot.

You crack me up kid.

Let me go back and count the words you've spelled wrong now because you were typing and doing something other in the meantime. Everyone misses a word at some point. I've never said I am perfect sport.

You don't crack me up at all when you're saying I shouldn't be allowed to vote (less than 30). You're in no way my superior in weighing in on national policy, despite what you apparently think.

Sorry kid.

I don't know what you're sorry about. Your wacky views are so far out in right field, you've openly discussed leaving the country to become a 3rd world slum lord in the land of your wife's package's return address. I don't think I have to worry.

Slum lord? Wow.

I've also looked at Australia too.

I would be down for this.

Except in Aussie land. Automatic no to any country where spiders are so big they have life bars, and every bug/snake there can kill you.

It is a gorgeous country...and the winter pics, if along the coast and not inside the arctic circle, is not unlike our northeast winters...just...darker. It is an amazing summer.

I don't mind the darkness or cold. I'm as pale as pale can be, so the less light the better. Lol. I'd move to somewhere near Oslo. Norway is relatively easy to emigrate to from the US, IIRC. Not a member of the EU is a plus. Socialist. Transparent taxes. Very good education and healthcare. Pretty much equal pay across the board. Very low religiosity. They speak English, but I can speak a little Norwegian.

Pretty much every Norwegian I know that isn't from Oslo thinks that Oslo is a dump. It could just be regional pride, but I don't think so as they would speak highly of other areas. Perhaps near Oslo but not Oslo- such as Tonsberg...

I want to hear the explanation from NEOCON why there are over twice as many people making > $100000 that voted for Obama rather than McCain. I am confident it will amusing reasoning

He'll say they're liars. Or government employees.

wonder how many of those folks would vote for him again? In 2008 it was easy to vote against McCain and vote for Obama, now that Obama actually has a track record, I'll bet that a lot of those in the upper-middle class bracket who voted for him then, won't vote for him in 2012.

Maybe. But Neocon's point has been that unemployed deadbeats and young ne'er-do-wells are all that voted for Obama, and are selfishly taking the country hostage. His own poll strongly refutes that claim (as does a PBS children's news-level look at the demographics).

I would say the wealthies of individuals who voted for Obama will probably do so again because he is closer to fitting their liberal ideology than anyone else. Now, some of those making over 100000 but with not much wealth, probably won't vote for him again. JMO

If that is what he thinks, he is remarkably uninformed.

I personally know lots of high net worth individuals who voted for Obama. Will they do it again? I can't honestly say, but I haven't heard a lot of grumbling from those individuals either
