Just heard from my source

A couple other things I forgot to mention. Interviews were declined by Peterson, Patterson, Gundy, Stoops, and Fedora. Also, an official announcement is probably still about 2 weeks away.

#1 coaching job open in the country per multiple outlets and the best list Hart can come up with is that crap. We have to get a home run, no maybe to it. If we take a risk again and fail we are screwed. I could live with Fisher and Strong but certainly don't think they should be the best names on our list.

Just got off the phone with my source and heard some interesting stuff. I can't name names but this is a trusted source with multiple connections to UT. Anyway, our four main candidates at the moment are Fisher, Strong, Golden, and Dabo Swinney. Fisher and Strong are both likely to interview at some point next week, although specific details are being kept tight lipped. Apparently, the boosters would rather have Strong but Hart is leaning towards Fisher. Golden is also likely to interview with Dave in the near future, but we are still waiting to hear back from Swinney's agent. Dabo is more of a wildcard candidate in case the other guys all turn us down, but apparently he and Hart know each other. Besides these four, the only other person being considered is Dana Holgorsen but he is a real longshot at this point.

One other interesting thing I was told...despite what some other people have said, there really is no friction between Hart and the boosters regarding the Gruden situation. Both parties agreed that Gruden's terms would be pretty much impossible to meet, so they all agreed to move on and look at other candidates. The one thing that might cause some friciton at this point is if Hart decides to go with Fisher, when most of the boosters want Charlie Strong.

You may should have checked on who has been interviewed already. Strong was interviewed lastnight and is believed to be Hart's top guy.

This is coming from the same idiot who posted a thread titled "Black Coach". You haven't learned your lesson already? Shut up, go put on the SEC game.

People like you, that post hypothetical and innocuous claims about "sources", who really are not sources, really irritate me. Do us all a favor and do not post anymore threads. Thanks!

Makes sense

Wait until right before the quiet period so the new coach can't recruit

Well, they got on a plane to go somewhere, and I'm guessing it wasn't to talk on a phone.

If it wasn't Strong according to you, and it wasn't Fedora...wonder who it was?

I'm not sure to be honest. My source didn't mention anything about it, only that Strong is supposed to be interviewed sometime next week...don't know when or where. Maybe it is even a second interview...my source was real tight lipped about mentioning anyone Hart has already met with, mainly because Strong and Fisher don't want this news to get out. I do know that he spoke with several potential coaches and their agents on phone last week, so that is why I was assuming that was probably the case with Strong.

I think they should be able to do better. But, I won't lose any sleep over Strong or Fisher.

When will people understand that it's not about money? UT can't just go offer someone $6 mil per year, and he'll come running. We aren't getting Gruden, Cowher, Patterson, Peterson, Stoops, Saban, Miles, or any big name. We also aren't going after PR nightmares like Tressel and Petrino. Accept it, and move on. This list is realistic, whether the OP is full of it or not.
