Just heard from my source

When will people understand that it's not about money? UT can't just go offer someone $6 mil per year, and he'll come running. We aren't getting Gruden, Cowher, Patterson, Peterson, Stoops, Saban, Miles, or any big name. We also aren't going after PR nightmares like Tressel and Petrino. Accept it, and move on. This list is realistic, whether the OP is full of it or not.

Who's your guy? If you don't mind me asking.

Those of you who trash every name that comes up have been asked several times for your better choice. Please, please share with us. Don't hold back. Who do you want?

A couple other things I forgot to mention. Interviews were declined by Peterson, Patterson, Gundy, Stoops, and Fedora. Also, an official announcement is probably still about 2 weeks away.

Again not true. We will have a coach next week.

I'm not sure to be honest. My source didn't mention anything about it, only that Strong is supposed to be interviewed sometime next week...don't know when or where. Maybe it is even a second interview...my source was real tight lipped about mentioning anyone Hart has already met with, mainly because Strong and Fisher don't want this news to get out. I do know that he spoke with several potential coaches and their agents on phone last week, so that is why I was assuming that was probably the case with Strong.

It's a good thing your not on the internet spilling you gut's, since they didn't want it to get out

Not true. You dont get on a plane just to do a phone interview.

Like I said earlier, my source wouldn't say anything about who Hart has already met with. I was just speculating that maybe it was a phone call since Hart is supposed to be meeting with Strong in person next week. However, it is definitely possible that they did meet last week and next week is their 2nd meeting. I really don't know either way.

I know some folks on here don't like it, but being here in Louisville, I've seen a lot of Strong first hand. The Louisville fans will be devastated to lose him. Simply a great guy who has done wonders for a program that was near death after similar coaching*fiascos. Sure he's not one of the big names, but we aren't getting any of them.

The only one i'd take over Petrino in that list is Strong, and it would be a tough choice.

Why does Petrino keep coming up. There is absolutely zero chance Petrino, B. Davis and Tressel are hired. Strong will be our HC I believe and is a great choice.

I would worry the crap out of Patterson and Petterson till someone took a restraining order out

Shaw at Stanford would get a call too

All three are pipe dreams, sorry. What makes you think Shaw would come clear across the country, when he's doing well where he is? Don't say money.

Dana Holgorsen is going to do big things in CFB I believe. I love the guy.

That being said, I don't think Tennessee gambles on him.

Dabo Swinney is going to be a star also.

Just don't see Tennessee going there either.

We will end up with Golden, Fedora, Fisher or Strong.

Again not true. We will have a coach next week.

The goal is to have a coach next week but there have apparently been some setbacks in this search, so they probably won't be able to get everything ironed out until the week after next. I was told that Fisher and Strong preparing for games this week also led to some delays.

If its Fisher or Golden, I'm out

Yeah a 10-2 coach in Fisher would be so terrible. It drives me nuts that our fans think they know everything about a coaching search and who would be the best coach for TN. Here's an idea, go find an AD job and you can hire whoever you like.

10-2 in the ACC with a loaded roster and the most fertile recruiting ground in the nation isn't that great. I'd take Strong over Fisher.

Dabo can recruit. That's what he's got going for him

Not impressed otherwise

Do you think Strong is a better coach than Petrino?
