To the OP, that list is total garbage. None of those guys will get the job done. I'd rather fire Hart and Sal then give Cheney one year as interim coach. If he shows good improvement and gets 8 wins or better then remove the interim and give him 4 yrs.

Fischer, Strong, Smart, and Swinney are garbage hires that we'd be wasting our time with.

I love the Vols but at this point in time the HC job at UT is not very attractive to the Top Coaches unfortunately....under different circumstances the Job is considered one of the top 15 in College Football

Spoke to Fulmer's son-in-law tonight. I asked if he had any insight. He said something that I found very interesting.

He said they never talk football unless it's about a game that is on TV at the time.

I think we've all heard enough about "sources" over the last couple of weeks. I'll believe it when I see "Coach ABC Hired" on UT's website. If none of the major writers or broadcasters don't have a clue what's going on, then some poster on a message board doesn't either. I think we've all fallen for the Gruden baloney and have zero trust in a "source".

Anyway, our four main candidates at the moment are Fisher, Strong, Golden, and Dabo Swinney. Fisher and Strong are both likely to interview at some point next week, although specific details are being kept tight lipped. Apparently, the boosters would rather have Strong but Hart is leaning towards Fisher. Golden is also likely to interview with Dave in the near future, but we are still waiting to hear back from Swinney's agent. Dabo is more of a wildcard candidate in case the other guys all turn us down, but apparently he and Hart know each other. Besides these four, the only other person being considered is Dana Holgorsen but he is a real longshot at this point.

One other interesting thing I was told...despite what some other people have said, there really is no friction between Hart and the boosters regarding the Gruden situation. Both parties agreed that Gruden's terms would be pretty much impossible to meet, so they all agreed to move on and look at other candidates. The one thing that might cause some friciton at this point is if Hart decides to go with Fisher, when most of the boosters want Charlie Strong.

2. Hart ask Gruden who told him Not Interested
3. Golden is a mystery because he is fixing to get NCAA sanctions.
