Just lost ESPN on Spectrum

Just Fyi, I have the Spectrum app and still getting my local ABC affiliate. Assuming that will still be the case at noon tomorrow. Spectrum is gonna lose bigly if they think millions of subscribers aren’t gonna change content providers if they’re missing a huge chunk of college football between all ESPN apps, SEC, etc.

So YouTube won't show the game tomorrow? That was my back up plan. From what I read on the internet the Spectrum CEO is not backing down so it doesn't appear that this is going to be resolved any time soon. Spectrum isn't all about bundling all the Disney stuff and forcing their customers into an all or nothing situation. Ugh!!

You should be able to get the game if you pick the package that provides your local channels as well. The game is on ABC and so far I still have that working in my favor. I have several friends that have YouTube tv and get everything wrt local channels, ESPN channels, Fox Sports, SEC NETWORK, etc. Hulu does the same.

I mean, I think it will be like it was last night. It'll go up, get shut down, find a new stream, get shut down, etc.
I caught all but about 5 minutes of the game last night on YouTube.
The public chat there is annoying as chit, though.

Lordy but this woman is so confused!! We have an older (not smart) TV down in the basement and hubby is seeing if he can get reception on it so I watch the game tomorrow. It's not connected to a Spectrum box so my fingers are crossed. I guess if all else fails I'll listen to the game on my computer but I've been looking forward to this football season forever. And to think we just last month hosted a birthday bash for our 2 year old great granddaughter and the theme was, wait for it, Minnie Mouse because that's her current obsessions. I am not a happy Noni right now.

Get an antenna. If you want to make it a smart tv get a roku express.

They knew what they were doing and timed it this way. They keep cutting their own throat.
Yes they knew the carriage agreement would end. Theyve been negotiating for months. Disney stock is down, they operated in the black for a while. it's a money grab from a healthy company

It's amazing how many people are blaming Spectrum in this. It's quite obvious it's a Disney thing.
I think people are ticked off that Spectrum didn't let anyone know there were contract negotiation break downs until people were like yeaah about to watch some football, here we goooo hey WTF

Yeah Disney playing hardball but Spectrum should've gave customers a heads up

Mine too. Do we get a credit on our next bill because we don't have access to channels we're paying for?
i got a discount from Direct TV for not having ABC for the last two months plus 3 months of Cinemax & some other movie channels

This.

Spectrum called Disney's bluff. Disney said hold my beer.

Ok so I just ditched spectrum Internet and got Verizon 5G home internet (Which is much cheaper than spectrum). Now I'm ditching Spectrum streaming TV. Which one should I go for Hulu Live or YouTube TV. Either way I'm gonna be saving money over Spectrum. I'm tired of Spectrum and dropping every bit of it!

Exactly. It's football season and when it comes to SEC football , fans are serious about it.
Going to see people jumping ship to Youtube TV, when they have a problem, then it's to Hulu Live, and when they have a problem it's off to the next streaming service.
Not mention the US Open Tennis tournament is going on and people can't watch it either.
I'll be able to watch the game on ABC tomorrow on the local channel but I'm still thinking about going to YT TV

I just don't understand why Spectrum wouldn't at least give people a heads up.

Disney created their own financial issues. Neither can afford to take an L here and I think spectrum has made a fair offer. Disney is trying to recoup for their own blunders.
