Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has passed away

I think it's very likely that this Trump nominee will also be a moderate in the mold of Sandra Day O'Connor or Anthony Kennedy. Truth be told Republicans (much to the chagrin of conservatives) have nominated lots of moderates, unlike Democrats. Republicans put on guys like Souter and Roberts in addition to the two I mentioned earlier. Dems have put very few moderates on the court in the past 40 some yrs.

So Trump would have named replacements for Scalia, Kennedy, and Ginsburg? So you can argue he replaced a conservative, a moderate, and a liberal justice.

As we debate Trump's legacy and evaluate whether he was the right choice in 2016, can you imagine what that court would look like if Hillary had named 3 justices and its implications for America? To all Trump voters: Don't ever let liberals guilt trip you about voting for such a political novice. Regardless of what happens in November, it was worth it

You should feel horribly guilty that he was selected as the repub nominee. If your stance is that no other republican could have beaten Hillary, you should feel even worse about your party.

You still don't understand 2016. The Republicans that usually vote turned out because they hated Hillary. What put Trump over the top were the people who thought that their voices weren't being heard on immigration, job losses, etc. , and were tired of scripted politicians, and wanted to try something different.

Call me loco, but I don't see how belittling and shaming others who don't think as you is effective at winning people to your cause.

You are just blind. It's a proven technique, belittle and demean people and they always come around to your side.
Ah. I am a deplorable, bitter-clinger so I am not versed in the best psychological tools to win friends and influence people. Thanks for educating me.

I know that's your take and was true for you. You've done an excellent job of making that clear. I will agree that it is a partial explanation, but it is in no way a complete explanation. The bigger part, and there is some overlap with what you are saying, is that a number of people viewed Trump as a big middle finger to the left and the things the left represents. I've seen that very thing said in the PF by multiple people. That middle finger to what the left "represents" is full of undertones, and for many Trumpers, those undertones are deplorable.
We will never agree on the breakdown of motivators.

I doubt that it is. I use a completely different approach in the "real world".
During my first few ventures into the PF I was repulsed by much of what I read. I adopted a persona and have just sort of stuck with it. I thought if some could see their reflection, they might be shocked into changing. Never really worked out. Amazingly, they seemed perfectly happy with the reflection they saw.

And how will this be different that the undertones of the anti-Trump and anti-right vote be this time? How will it not be a big middle finger to Trump?

Trump deserves a big middle finger. I'm using both hands.
