From what I have heard they cleared the documents before Booker pulled this stunt, did I hear incorrectly?
“We cleared the documents last night shortly after Senator Booker’s staff asked us to,” said Bill Burck, a lawyer for Bush involved in the release of documents. “We were surprised to learn about Senator Booker’s histrionics this morning because we had already told him he could use the documents publicly."
This... A thousand times over. Both sides are playing political games and it's embarrassing to watch. Its confusing. Could be that some were and they added others. Looks like they are just trying to prevent Booker from being able to claim he did some public good by releasing them when the committee would not.
It does make you wonder why they were restricted in the first place. Emails about abortion cases and race set-aside programs hardly seem sensitive, surprising, or in need of classification. I really don't understand restricting them in the first place, except for political reasons, which hardly seems genuine.
Lol. What a f’n loser.Booker isn’t Spartacus! I’m Spartacus!
‘Confidential’ Kavanaugh emails posted by Cory Booker were cleared, despite dramatic claim of defying rules
And hours after this BS grand standing was debunked and shown Booker was risking nothing in his “ Spartacus moment” the MSM sites are STILL running front page pieces about how he bravely defined the establishment.
Nah, no MSM agenda at play here whatsoever.
This isn't one sided. The treatment of Merrick Garland set the stage for this. Senate confirmation hearings and votes will be down party lines from now on... that will work out well for Kavanaugh but in the future? This is going to be a mess. Our government has become a grease fire when even the Senate pulls juvenile pranks. The Senate at one time was called the adults of congress but apparently the rules have changed. I hope the democrats are aware of what they are setting themselves up for.
My prediction is there will be a civil war between the liberal states and the majority of the country in the next 25 years if things keep up like they have been. I doubt I'll be around, but if I can still pull the trigger on a shotgun count me in for the "fly over" crowd.
Nope! Not at all! The lawyer which was involved in the process stated clearly they told Booker last night they were cleared for public release! It’s in a link I posted earlier. This was nothing more than histrionics and orchestrated theater!Seems there’s conflicting reports on when the docs were declassified. Also Cornyns hysterics about throwing Booker out of the Senate don’t make much sense if these docs were declassed as early as some are reporting.
Not sure anything will be clear about the document stuff.
Like Obama said, "elections have consequences" When one party controls the house and senate and the other controls the executive branch there is not likely much to get done. When the executive branch gets defeated and the congress stays the same, well it sucks to be you. If you don't like it, change your representatives. This isn't one sided. The treatment of Merrick Garland set the stage for this. Senate confirmation hearings and votes will be down party lines from now on... that will work out well for Kavanaugh but in the future? This is going to be a mess.
