Kavanaugh Confirmation

How can we look them up if they are sealed?
You can look at all the sealed indictments listed. That they are indeed real. Names won’t be available...

Trust me hog. They are there. Whether they are enforced is the question. But they are there.

On a more positive note, the local Johnson City tv station covered the Presidential motorcade arrival and showed outside and inside Freedom Hall in J.C., and the area is packed. People were lining the roads all the way back to the Mall, which is probably 3/4 of a mile or more.

I think partisan interests play a huge roll in Supreme Court votes by the Senate. I think at least some of the time, some of the Senators can be convinced to set those aside if there are reasons not to confirm.

As to his academic or experience qualifications I have no complaint. I can't think of a Supreme Court nominee in my lifetime who lacked the basic credentials for the job.

And, to boot, I can see a Senator deciding that there is insufficient reason to vote against K and so they vote for him. I think that is within reason.

Can you admit that it's within reason that a Senator would think that there was enough there to decide either to want more info or to vote no?

I'll play the Ginsberg rule...

20-30 years ago, Senators voted on the qualifications for the job rather than a political position. And that's a damning statement from BOTH sides of the aisle. Now, regardless of the information, less than 15 minutes after he was announced, your boy Chucky made the announcement they were going to oppose. No further information, no credential check, nothing. Just a flat "NO!" And you certainly can't blame the sexual assault allegations for that little turn of events.

Can you admit your party has made a farce of this nomination?

The comparison poll was taken prior to the allegations leaking. This difference tells us nothing about how people reacted to his response.

Also of interest CNN left out this from the poll

But 49 percent of voters say Kavanaugh "is the target of a politically motivated smear campaign," as 45 percent of voters say he is not a target of a smear campaign.
and

And voters say 48 - 41 percent that Dr. Blasey Ford has been treated fairly. At the same time, 47 percent of voters say Kavanaugh has been treated unfairly while 43 percent say he has been treated fairly.

It doesn't indicate that his testimony helped him which was OC opinion on the matter. It illustrated the point I made exactly.
For someone that thinks the members on the SC are non-partisan you are nothing but a joke. GTFO.

If the left wants to continue to screw the pooch, appoint Barrett and ram her through like green grass through a greased goose.

The left has made a mockery of our political processes -- more embarrassing than anything Trump has done or said. They don’t want a democratic republic, they want a totalitarian state, where they have dominion and all the provisions to do as they choose.

So congress has paid over $17 million in sexual harassment settlements with taxpayers money but Trump gets criticized for paying off a porn hooker with his own money. Then you have Ellison who undeniably beat his girlfriend and Booker who is an admitted sexual predator. Not an ounce of proof against Kavanaugh but he’s guilty simply by being accused by a mentally unstable woman. For any dim to talk about partisanship is hypocrisy at its finest.

What's the job of the Supreme Court?

Interpret the Constitution as it applies to rights and laws.

Actually, ensure the laws conform to the Constitution. I'll give you half credit for at least saying the right words.

Now, does emotion of political philosophy come into play there?
