Kavanaugh Confirmation

He is a nominee for our highest court and should have been able to handle it without losing his composure.
This is an easier said than done type situation. This time a week ago I would have agreed with you, but I was subpoenaed to testify In a work related hearing regarding a large claim that occurred over three years ago. When I was cross examined the attorney's lone tactic was to try and discredit me and my testimony. He tried to smear me and call me a liar for over an hour. I can see how Kavanaugh could have moments of frustration despite his judicial experience.
If I ever see that rat bastard again I'm going to tell him what a no good POS he is.

Funny every man I’ve ever known has spent their life trying to buy for , take care of , do for , help , be with , teach , hire , cheer up , impress , and pay for their lawyers .
Edit :
I also find humor in the fact a multimillionaire woman is talking about how hard it is to be a woman.
This is the ignorance if the left. No thought what so ever.

For some background on Salt Lake Tribune and Hatch.

Tribune Editorial: Why Orrin Hatch is Utahn of the Year

"It has everything to do with recognizing:
  • Hatch’s part in the dramatic dismantling of the Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante national monuments.
  • His role as chairman of the Senate Finance Committee in passing a major overhaul of the nation’s tax code.
  • His utter lack of integrity that rises from his unquenchable thirst for power."
The last bullet point - honestly what serious news publication would make such a hyperbolic statement if they wanted to be taken seriously. Completely explains the tone in the "shame on Hatch" editorial.

Journalism is dead.

Serious question, what publications do you considef reputable? Severley biased left or right publications dont count.
If I am looking for a close to honest take I look at BBC America, in general their initial reporting on any news is matter of fact and followed by opinions, and after that WSJ and the Econmist.

Dont you think at some point, you get tired of repeating yourself and having to unjustly prove your innocence? This whole trial, I mean cough *job interview* has been ridiculous from the get go. How would you deal with people attacking you, even though your credentials are impeccable ? Or attacking your family? Mocking your daugther? Or trying to slander your name without ANY credible evidence to back it up?

Yeah I am sure you would have conducted yourself differently.

I can understand that from the vantage point of the average person in an unfamiliar circumstance. This was a nominee for the Supreme Court in a Senate hearing he had been prepped for by White House lawyers. I don't think it's disqualifying but it is relevant. It looks like Kavanaugh realizes that he had some missteps during that hearing and has tried to clean it up with a column of his own. He admitted he said some things he shouldn't have and tried to emphasize that he would be impartial. That is as close to an admission as you will get that he should not have invoked the Clintons and the 2016 election or made attacks against Democrats in the process of defending himself. My guess is, he will be confirmed after the holdouts (Flake, Collins and Murkowski) have sufficiently covered themselves with empathy for sexual assault accusers and expressed respect for Dr. Ford.

Agreed with your sources, especially the BBC, and I would add NPR as well. They normally represent multiple sides to the issue in their commentary.

I tend to like the BBC. In all seriousness, I dont see the big deal about a news publication showing support for a SC conformation as a big thing. I mean should it even matter?
