Kavanaugh Confirmation

A vindictive Justice with a questionable view on the 4th. Not sure why this is being hailed as such a great victory.

I honestly don't see him being vindictive from the bench. It doesn't really fit his personality and there would be a personal cost to him to carry animous over this. I think he's smarter than that.

Had the party line vote been all that happened, sure, no need or reason for celebration.

But with everything that went on from the Democrat side, the awakening of the GOP base (again) just in time for November, the true colors of the DNC showing out...it all adds up to a great victory for certain.

"what goes around comes around."

He was not trustworthy in his testimony but has been in his privacy views. This should be troubling except too many view this as a team competition. His confirmation is not a positive

It's a win for presumption of innocence - more important than any team crap
Tell that to the people claiming "we won" without having a clue what this guy stands for. It was even swept under the rug by the GOP once they were told to get with the team's choice.

I'm defending presumption of innocence and reasonable advise and consent Senate activities. I can see why that makes me a radical.
Good grief, this is what I mean by team sport. I've said he should get confirmed, I've said there was not enough evidence to disqualify him (that is called supporting presumption of innocence), I've said this was a shitshow of political theater, and I've said nothing in his career on the bench shows me unprofessionalism.

why not tell it to those who opposed him from the beginning and were whipped into a frenzy about him killing women, gays, minorities, the poor and whatever ridiculous crap was thrown out.

I don't care what reasons others have. This was a disastrous smear job and I'm glad sanity won over the mob.

Do you have any basis to assert he is vindictive in the 300+ rulings he’s made on the DC circuit?

This is one of the ludicrous assertions. Now that he’s on SCOTUS he’s going to totally go against his record to date which until this fiasco was graded very highly by his peers. If anybody is being vindictive it’s the people questioning his professional temperament in an impossible situation of defending his name and family from an onslaught of ridiculous accusations. Not just the assault accusations all of the follow on crap that they threw at the wall hoping something would stick.

Based on how he was treated I wouldn’t blame him for being vindictive. However his judicial record to date says that probably won’t be an issue.

Vindictive to who ? Don’t all judges have a questionable view on something ? Ask the left about his questionable views on “ women rights” . It’s being hailed as a victory because the alternative is stall , resist and deny .
