keep jim chaney

keep JC, get a head coach that will temper his need to throw it every down. We gotta stop drinking our own Kool aid. Bray is a good quarterback, not legendary. JH was a legendary receiver. Since he came back from the knee injury, he is just a really good receiver. CP is an awesome YAC guy with electrifying potential but he can't run routes and he has mediocre catching ability. The O line is solid.
Honestly, if our D was as good as our O then we would be talking about how great Chaney is and how he helped turn around our O line and running game with Grahams help.

Far too many 3rd and Chaney this year.... cost mumerous key drives in many games.

the new coach will clean house--he will not want any of these loser coaches around who couldn't win an SEC game

I laugh at the people who don't like this idea. Ever wonder if Dooley was the one that kept ****ing up Chaney? He has our offense booming and we'd be a two loss team if we had just an average D.

As a qb coach yes, he is one of the best at it. As an OC no because he is very pass happy.

I believe his play calling is about 50% run, 50% pass. I personally couldn't imagine how good this offense would have been this year with a 5* experienced RB taught by Graham and if Rodgers was still a WR. The biggest problem I see is him not exploiting weakness, like when UT was getting 10+ yard per carry running the ball against Vandy... stay with it. Call me crazy, I was for Wilcox staying last year also.

Firmly agree we need to keep CJC. Yes, he has had a questionable game or two, but our offense is farrrr from the problem. Hell, if we even had an adequate defense this year we wouldn't even be discussing any of this.. If you want to go back to a dink and dunk kind of offense that scores around 17 and 21 points a game vs. CJC's offense who scores 30 and 40 points consistently, then you're crazy...

Think about it guys!
our best chance to win next year and understand i mean next year, is to keep chaney and his offense mainly because it would help tremendiously to keep his scheme and terminology in place for our O which will still be mostly upper-classmen
If i had to put money on it I say yes he stays. unless our new coach is an offensive guy who calls his own plays... i don't think chaney would want to sit around and coach TEs or something like he did for kiffin.. i think after calling plays for three years, with that kind of resume in the SEC he'd rather move on somewhere else and continue calling plays

exactly, i can't imagine many OCs that could do much better. all the big name OCs are in conferences with poor defensess. i think dana holgerson or mike leach or someone would have about the same results as chaney. they've only faced Ds like chaney has maybe once every two years where as chaney faces top 10 Ds 8 games a year

no thanks. anyone who abandons the running game when it clearly working to help out a struggling running game is unfit IMO. I can't tolerate any more 2&2, 3&2 deep bombs either.

haha i feel the same way. say if he brought in a great d-coord he'd probably wouldn't do that bad. but I'm just a big offensive guy i may view things differently than other people.

but like i said earlier i think whats wrong with these people
is it seems like they're more comfortable with a poor offense and a good defense or something. hey as long as we run the ball they say. I'm gonna start calling it the fulmer effect

Chaney is predictable and does not put together a great game plan. A lot of this also has to do with Dooley and Sunseri, but none of these guys can make the proper adjustments on the field.

Ideally, I'd like to keep Cheney as long as the new coach gives him the stipulation that he MUST balance the offense more. None of this going away from the run when we are gashing them for 7-10 every play or dialing up a long bomb on 3rd and 2.

"the Fulmere effect"

got it

got it dude!

haha you know what i mean though?

like the guys in neyland that stand up and yell run the dam* ball! when were marching up and down the field all game. but were just passing to much for them i guess. I've heard it several times this year in Y9.

as oc.
i hope our new HC retains chaney as our OC especially if he is a defensive guy.

flame away!

So your sayin the offense was all chaney? Don't think so. Dooley had alot of input on the offense. Sal and his underlings screwed tha defenses pooch.
