We’re not, we lost 11 games to teams not named National Champs. We started out #5 and ended #20. That top is thin…and a great win to beat LSU, big picture we are not close thick of it.
Double standard how? How about win the games you’re supposed to win and start there as opposed to blaming schedules. So you don't think we would have beaten LSU's nonconference schedule and had a very similar record to theirs (since all those wins are so important in your book).
Could you please be a little less transparent with your double standards?
I apply it to Tennessee, my team.
No it’s not, win the games you’re supposed to win. I’ve always stated that and always stated benchmark games are the ones you get judged on. But you knew that. But please continue to say “double standard” to appease the spin. We beat LSU, it’s been acknowledged by myself and others as a huge win. Does not mean we get to hang a banner for the win or fast tracked back to the top. Thus the double standard. Thank you for admitting to applying that principle.
Good to know that you would be derisive toward Connecticut, Iowa, Louisville, Ohio State, Texas, and other Top 10 teams who lost to teams outside the Top 25 this past season...or, in your words, teams they were "supposed to beat."
Don’t lose to teams outside the Top 25 is a place to start, if you’re inside the Top 10. And before you fluff the spin, those teams had no issues facing or beating Tennessee.
How long do we keep winning recruiting only from the portal? Not sure how that isn't seen as more of an alarm bell.

The spin is making excuses or drawing comparisons to others failures to validate our own. Your/others jury timeline doesn’t not have to align with others who have seen enough not only here but prior. So we can agree, objective fans can view the good and bad simultaneously. And I haven't seen anyone suggesting either of those things.
You keep talking about "spin." The only "spin" I'm seeing is from those painting the current state of the Lady Vol program in the worst possible light regardless of the facts. And applying different standards to other teams is the very definition of a double standard.
Objective fans can see both the strengths and flaws in their chosen program. For instance, we can simultaneously celebrate successes in the transfer portal while being very concerned about the lack of four-year recruits. We can applaud great comeback wins while simultaneously being disappointed at the huge deficit that made the comeback necessary. We can appreciate the culture improvement while being frustrated by the inconsistent execution on offense and defense.
In short, there are a lot of fans who don't see the value of constantly tearing down the players and coaches, particularly during the season, instead of doing an objective analysis afterward. And we don't see the value of pining after other flavor-of-the-month coaches whose teams subsequently suffer the same setbacks (transfers, losses to unranked teams, etc.).
Is Kellie the long-term answer? For many of us, the jury is still out. For other very vocal opponents, the verdict was in before she was even hired. And they and their fellow travelers have not let up ever since whether expressing real concerns shared by most or uttering disingenuous, often hypocritical digs toward the staff...all apparently fueled by the fact that their preferred candidate wasn't chosen.
There's the sad, pathetic, ugly truth. No spin required.
