none of the coaches you mentioned as ones you would want are former Tennessee womens basketball players who played under Pat Summitt, so they are non-starters for this fanbase. Remember, nothing says disrespect to them like mentioning a potential coach who did not play here. And quite frankly, i doubt this is Danny White's decision. Its like a marriage over there between the mens and womens athletic departments, the women do the shopping and tell the men to pay for it

No one that worked in the old women’s athletics department is still employed by UT. They’ve all left or retired.

She is a great coach, but if she left the WNBA it would be for the NBA.

Don’t agree. She has an agent. Her agent will be looking to get paid, also. The problem in that equation is she would split for the NBA in a Heartbeat.

She has failed to find ball players that are willing to get after it. Who can handle the ball and are good passers and shooters. Players that are tenacious and play hard. We simply are not any of that as a team. They play robotic weak lackadaisical basketball to many minutes in games. She doesn’t know how to evaluate nor coach up talent. After 5 years we are going in opposite direction. Anybody that knows basketball can see this. We need a new coach that is hungry and wants a challenge while having resources and history on their side. We need a more demanding coach even if it means cleaning house. I have seen many less talented teams take our teams to school too many times over the last few years. Pat in her prime would run players off with her practices that are on this team. No sense of urgency, no fight, we lose most lose ball battles and that shows a lot. Time to clear and clean house on women’s basketball no matter who cries about it. It’s nothing but more of the same with Holly then Kellie. I respect them as great Vol players but they are not the coaches the lady Vols need and them are just the facts. GBO

We are Tennessee...Exactly why would we go after top assistants?...We should only be going after established head coaches...We are not a learn as you go job...You don't give the keys of a ferrari to a driver who doesn't know how to drive it.

If Danny White can’t attract top candidates for one of the premier programs in the history of women’s basketball then maybe he’s in over his head.

Wes Moore made it clear during the last coaching search he had no interest in coaching at UT. He took the NC State job because he wanted to finish out his career in NC.

Maybe but money and coaching 1 of the top 2 historical programs she played for might be enough.

Chris Dailey has zero head coaching experience and has been an assistant at UConn since 1985. If he wanted to be a head coach, it would have happened already.

Lisa Boyer's head coaching record is 124-149.

i would say what i already posted geno at uconn and jeff at louisville were good assistants with no HC experience and several more notable successful examples

There are a couple Girls on the team slower than smoke. Hate it for them, but you must deal in Reality. They have no quicks, get ran by on drives and rebounds. This staff has to GO. 5 years and nothing? OUT of the top 25, and fixing to have a losing season!
