Kellie Harper discussion/debate thread [merged]

Coaching is the issue because they bring in the players, so in that case I agree.
For sure, idiot coaches did not require Key and Jackson to avoid health issues and injury. Getting production from the next tier is so much easier when defenses have to concentrate on the elite class. What an oversight. Losing Wells changes the point dynamics now as well, but not to the same level.

Recruiting is NO where near the ISSUE> Coaching Coaching Coaching..............

Tennessee began the 22-23 season ranked #4/#5. Tennessee began this current season ranked #11/#12.

Clearly it isn't just overzealous fans on a message board that think Kellie has had roster(s) talented enough to make a legitimate Final Four run...

Both seasons had a quick exit from the Top 25.

Injuries happen to majority of the teams. Coaches get paid nicely to overachieve when things get harder. Key is a unique situation but the staff had a chance to get a big in the portal.

Not all injuries are created equal. When you lose your top 2 on a top heavy roster life IS going to be abnormally tough, not routinely tough. Bet that is not lost on our AD. Bet if the men lost Grant and Admiral for same number of games record would have been equally disappointing and the Barnes serial naysayers would have mucked it up similarly.

Sure, some are lost for the season or career ending. Which goes back to your point of top heavy…recruit better and develop better. Unfortunately the universe doesn’t work with the “bet if” mentality for hypotheticals for college basketball.

I think RJ starts for any team in the country.
Possibly. She’s defiantly good enough for most. Do those top teams need her the way Tennessee does. The last season “out indefinitely” which was a coaches decision might be different for other teams.

Watching the AL game. This is just sad. We only have one fairly good player. We used to be packed. I suppose we will only be a so-so team going forward.

Down 15 pts to a trash team at this point in the season is a wrap.
At one point, I hadn’t watch a women’s college basketball game in about 10 years. I’m probably a few weeks away from another hiatus. The coach does not have a winner’s presence. It’s sad because a lot of these current players and the recruits truly love Tennessee program. But the you can’t be successful without a good leader. Tennessee doesn’t have a good leader. Maybe a nice person but not a leader.

if we could only play UGA and Missouri every time. Respect for sounding like Majors in regards to Kellie.

Watching the Alabama game. Still can't believe what i saw. They fought to get back within 61-54 and she took Jackson out with 4:00 left in the game. Huh??? She put her back in with 2:30 to go but why in the world would you take her out at that point?
