Kelly to ....? (Merged)

Yahoo sports now reporting it.... Meanwhile, is there a scarier hire than Chip Kelly at Florida? Two-time national coach of the year, perennial top 5 offenses, the man Urban Meyer called “a football genius.”

Game changer felt all the way to Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Oh I’m not saying it wouldn’t be a good hire for you. He is the general “it” name right now. But you do realize you sound just like us with Gruden right? And there is no way on Gods green earth he comes here.

But if you do land Kelly that would be a great hire.

Congrats if Kelly is hired to UF.

I've always tried to remain positive throughout this cycle we're we've sucked. With that said, if Kelly to UF happens, and we walk out a Mike Norvell type coach, I think I'm really going to get depressed.

We’re not getting anyone good. At best we’ll get someone who will have us competing for 3-4 in the east.

Kelly to UF sucks but I think Frost would of been much worse for us in the long run. Same type of offense, and would be there much longer. Kelly probably has 5 years max at UF. (If for some miracle we do get Gruden. That’s probably how long he’d be here too)

Um, no. I haven’t been obsessed with Kelly-to-Florida for a decade, I don’t believe bloggers in basements, I don’t believe random sightings from folks in restaurants, etc.

I’ve been on record here and elsewhere saying Scott Frost would be my #1 guy with Kelly being 1a. And if Kelly says no, although it looks imminent that he’ll say yes, I would move on from him forever. I won’t be re-visiting Kelly to Florida dreamland ten years from now.

That makes me waaaaay different from these Gruden folks.

Lol jaws no you haven’t been that way... until this point. And right now we got about 5 resident Gators that are giddy as school girls over their first boy crush.

But that’s fine because if it’s really true you’ll get the last laugh. And trust me I understand the enthusiasm I really do. There was a post to a twitter account earlier today about John Harbaugh to TN and he’s the guy I would really like to see us land but admittedly it’s a long shot.

There’s genuine excitement in Gator Nation over Kelly, no doubt. If you guys want a better example of our Gruden equivalent, it would be Bob Stoops. Gator nation has been begging for him since Spurrier left, through 4 coaching changes.

Back to Kelly... you’re right, if there’s nothing official by tomorrow, we’ll look like asses. But when you have the UF sideline reporter and a man with a son on the team saying that it’s Kelly, I mean, that’s pretty solid. But I guess we’re waiting on Scott Stricklin to tell us something “officially.”

Right now honestly all I see is smoke. I’ve got a google search lined up and refresh it about every 15 minutes.

But yeah there is a BUNCH of smoke.

I think Florida went for the PUSH/LOCKDOWN today with the news from UCLA and people jumped on it, but I think he waits to talk to UCLA.

I have zero doubt UF could outbid UCLA if its money he wants

Esp since they had to pay full buyout and UF paid about a third but even besides that UCLA is a second rate football school UF is far better

The west coast pull may equal out that money. Plus Chip is still being for his last two stops I believe.

If he is smart he would. Smart businessmen listen to all offers, especially if it could fatten those pockets.

Many on here didn’t seem to be very high on Kelly, but him going to FLA worries me. He is absolutely a great coach, and his teams aren’t just competitive, when they are rolling they destroy their competition. With the athletes he can get there, I think he could rule the east and finally challenge Bama. He should have been our number one with a bullet assuming Gruden was never in play.

Kelly would kill it at Florida.
