Kentucky lost again

It felt so obvious that this would happen. Got told so many times I was worried about nothing, but everything before this game setup for a massive letdown. I know we like to laugh at Kentucky when they lose, but them reaching rock bottom 3 days before coming to Knoxville was not what we wanted. Combine that with our guys playing tight, nervous, and outside of themselves and it’s a recipe for a big fat egg.

Totally agree. You and I were on the same wavelength all week. You never take UK for granted.

Lol....no way in hell I make that bet. I think we probably lose worse there.

Our fans are weird, man. Last time we went to Rupp we got thrashed by 30. Kentucky just came into Knoxville and pretty much whipped us for 40 minutes. We never really felt “in” the game after the 8-0 start. Yet, our fans just want to call it a fluke and think it will be just easy to go on the road and win.

Yeah, though, it's not as if Kentucky was magically any better today than they have been lately. They had lots of miscue and mistakes - but also 15 more free throws. For whatever reason. *cough*

Well, that was the best game UK played probably all year, but certainly in SEC play. It was one of our worst. The officials were a non-factor in the outcome to me. They sucked, for sure, but they sucked all around. 15 more FTs should have actually been advantageous to us given they shoot 65% from the line, but when they dial in and shoot 22-25, it backfires. We just got punched in the mouth by a team who looked like they wanted it more.

We were more than in the game today. Turned the ball over and gave up too many rebounds especially in the first half which is how they got the lead. We were the better team in the second half and didn’t really play that well.

Idk, thought we really didn’t play well today and had a good chance to win.

I counted six missed gimmes at the rim. We could have won this game even with the 3 point shot not being there today. We just had a bad game. Also the lack of rebounding crushed us.

Make the bunnies and rebound just a little closer to our mean and this game would have looked a lot different.

We played bad more than they played well imo. Stil not a good team and think we win handily at Rupp

KY defense was lock down. TN had no answer and KY could have easily won by 20. Uros, surprisingly, was the only thing that was working on TN’s offensive end. Nobody else was able to step up. Lot’s of young TN players exhibited why they haven’t had more PT.

Yep. Aidoo, Maschack, and Phillips all looked out-classed today. They provided no juice to this team. Phillips continues to disappear against teams that are big, physical, and have NBA bodies. I know teams draft off potential, but he really needs another year.

I can’t say it felt obvious Kentucky would win. I can say it felt obvious to me that any Tennessee fan who claimed “easy win” or ”we win by 20” or any of the other similar things I heard, just doesn’t really have a clue about college basketball. It’s as simple as that. I was worried, but felt we would come out on top.

However, it is a single blip on the radar. In the scheme of things, we didn’t find out anything else about this team we didn’t already know. Rebounding was atrocious, and the king of inconsistency and lack of effort (ON) was doing his thing yet again, and that killed us.

GA came back to earth quickly as Tshiebwe takes over. It really takes a big body to keep him at really good - without a UP type leaning on him Tshiebwe can be dominant

Barnes and his staff should put together a Tshiebwe rebounding film this off season for Aidoo and Awaka to study in how to dominate the glass.

34 points and 23 rebounds is a monster game.
