Kentucky lost again

I don't think Kentucky basketball, under Calipari, has been the same since losing in the 2015 Final Four to Wisconsin, with the super team of Karl Anthony Towns, Willie Cauley-Stein, Devin Booker, Trey Lyles, Dakari Johnson, Marcus Lee and the Harrisons. I know they have still had a couple of 30 win seasons and they have still made two Elite 8's ... Don't get me wrong, the recruiting is still very good - but nothing like what it was before the 2014-15 season. It seems like failing to win it all with that team, cost Calipari some respect among the powers that be in the recruiting circles. He doesn't win every recruiting battle like he once did ... not even close.

I have been watching the first two episodes of the SEC Network's documentary "History Of SEC Basketball" and Adolph Rupp and Kentucky have been featured prominitely so far.......... no mention yet of the rivalry between Tennessee and Kentucky and Pat Head Summitt will be a big part of Chapter 3 along with Dale Brown.

I know its unbelievable....Also We lost to a terrible Florida team and terrible Colorado team...We beat the good ones and lose to the bad ones....I can't figure it out lol

Neither Florida or Colorado are terrible, Florida has one of the best Ds we will play and regrettably a really good young coach.

Colorado is 14-11 on the season and Florida is 13-10...We should've blown both those teams off the floor.

Our fan base is so basketball ignorant…zero understanding that there are bad matchups, road games are a thing, cold nights happen, or that some unexpected losses occur to every single team.

A lot of them come from the football forum just to whine & b*tch if they see this team struggle to win.

Probably doesn’t even watch the games to know what’s really going on most of the time any way.

That night was so great watching Wisconsin ruin Kentuckys Perfect Season. Back to the Coal Mines

Colorado, yes, but Florida on the road is not a gimme game. I can think of many times when we were the bubble team beating the Donovan Florida teams or Kentucky type teams on our home court. It's just the nature of the sport. Bringing your A game everytime just doesn't happen

No longer has World Wide Wes funneling players to Kentucky is part of the issue.

Florida is #38 in Ken Pom and Colorado is #58. For comparison, Kansas St (#12 AP poll) lost to Butler (#110 Ken Pom) and TCU (#17 AP poll) lost to Northwestern State (# 202 Ken Pom). Losses that are much worse than ours happen quite a bit in college basketball.

Someone on this forum was trying to tell me the UK loss at home wasn’t a bad loss. This Uk teams stinks.

Nice broad brush you have there!

This is sadly true. I grew up in ACC country and subsequently grew up a Duke fan. Even in Coach K's heyday with all the talent and NC teams, they always had some inexplicable losses every year. And on the subject of mismatches I remember Florida State teams that were not good based on record but gave Duke fits every year because they were always so athletic. Oh yeah it seems like there was this coach at Clemson that used to give Duke fits as well:)

These people would lose their minds being fans of professional basketball or baseball teams. Where even the best teams lose a bunch of games every year.
