Kentucky lost again

Cal ain’t going anywhere this off-season. Not happening! He has one of the best recruiting classes in the history of recruiting rankings coming to Kentucky next season. He’s going to stay one more year and see what he can do with that squad, and if that squad fails and doesn’t meet expectations then he might leave.

Here lies the problem.

The media gets so caught up in recruiting rankings every year and automatically puts them in PreSeason Top 10 without any evidence of this squad working out.

Too many teams out there with great talent and ability to pick up good players in the transfer portal.

Cal will have good talent again next year but it’s still going to be his same dull offense. His philosophy won’t change.

Besides his followers, most UK fans have him figured out now.

I don’t think it makes any sense for Oats to leave Bama right now. He’s beloved there - at Kentucky or Texas he’d be just another guy until he at least made a Final Four. Plus Bama is about to build him a new arena that will probably be the nicest in the SEC when it’s done.

Ego is the only thing taking Oats to UK. Bama will pay him. Texas would be more of a lateral move, honestly.

Do you think Rodney Terry has zero chance at the job? I know he wouldn’t be the sexiest hire, but he’s doing a really admirable job navigating that tough situation at Texas this year.

Like you said, I could be proven wrong. Nothing is a guarantee and I’m not going to be shocked if it does happen. I just think Cal will probably see if he can strike gold with this class at Kentucky and then go from there. Should make for an interesting off-season though!
Terry has done a tremendous job, but thought around CBB seems to be he needs to probably make E8 or even F4 to get the job, basically do enough to absolutely leave no option but to hire him.

Cal has had better classes than this one that’s incoming, he may win with them but he may be right back down in a year or two as well….again not saying it will happen but I definitely can see why he’s listen.

I would personally love it if Oats went to Kentucky. Kentucky is going to figure it out one way or another and eventually right the ship. They are a blue blood. I’d much prefer Alabama go back to mediocrity rather than being this elite year in and year out.

Texas is a lateral move. But, sometimes...both parties just need some air to breath.

It is similar to Mike White leaving Florida for Georgia. That was a lateral move that just made sense for all parties involved.

Living in Austin or Alabama. Pretty easy decision.

It probably doesn't matter when you make the money these guys make and are as busy as they are, but I'd much rather live in Lexington than in Tuscaloosa.

Family. Coaches spend so much time away from their families, and always feel some guilt about it if they're at all decent. So location is one of the few things a coach can give his wife and kids.

But you can have a wonderful community of people and resources around you, regardless how bad or limited the city around you might be.

Well, then, I'd much rather have my family living in Lexington than in Tuscaloosa!

LOL, Oscar was allowed to maul Vandy players in pursuit of rebounds. On one trip down the court he spent 20 seconds camped in the lane. Happy Senior Night!

The fact that Oscar pretty much played Linebacker tonight than any basketball position and the refs looked the other way - and Vandy still won - is a sight to behold.

I don't want Auburn to make the tournament. I guess I'm rooting for Bama since they are already in it.
