Kentucky Now #1 on Rivals...

The situation they've been in the last few years is really tough. UT fans are desperate for winning. Recruiting is coming back but it isn't what it could be. It's a very tough job. Probably a lot of pressure. Let's say Butch goes 5-7, 6-6. What are fans saying?

Whereas at UK Stoops going the same record would be a major improvement over Joker and fans would be happy (not completely happy, but relieved we aren't bottom dwellers).

recruiting is coming back but isnt what it could be?
hes been the coach for 6-7 months not sure he could have done any better. recruiting will be fine

They will drop a lot come NSD. Their average star rating is pretty low. I doubt they make the top 10 in Rivals. Probably not even the top 15. We should finish 12th or better depending on who we land down the stretch.

We might, too, if we don't finish strong. I think we will be top 10 to 15 for sure when it's all said and done. Would love to be top 5, and that's possible, but we've got to start getting a few more 4* and 5* guys to join the fold in order to do that.

its not a worse gig than UK no matter how bad we've been bc we have still beat UK everytime except once for like 30 yrs and running. TN has a higher ceiling as well right now still so no its not a worse gig.tip my hat to what UK is doing but to say its a worse job is stupid

Beating another team every year doesn't exactly mean that place is a "better" job. Success is relative, and while UT in the long run has a much higher ceiling as you said, the current state of the program presents a very hard task. Do I need to remind you of the losing streaks to the sec teams?

I don't think overall it's a worse job. But look at the programs and what it will take to please the fans. Both coaches are going to have high expectations. But who will face more pressure if those expectations aren't met?

That is just idiotic to say..Congrats to UK for the recruiting uptick but UT will NEVER be a worse "gig" than UK...

Unrealistic fans are the worst part of the UT gig. I think it's arguable that there are aspects of your program that can make the job less attractive. Let's not forget that it took you guys a while to find Butch. And, Kentucky passed on Butch early in the search.

It's a stretch to call it idiotic. There are unattractive aspects of both programs.

Yep. If we end up in the top 10, that would be great.

UT has a very high ceiling. This class is built off promises and Butch's reputation. I'll be interested in his classes after 2014 when we see how good he is.

So bc UK hired Stoops over Butch you're saying stoops is better? The guy has never been a head coach? Built on promises and rep? What do you think UK is selling ? Yeh, time will tell about the future classes but he's off to a good start in 2014 and 2015. I'll also be interested to see where this UK class finishes after the season.

You can ignore it all you want but UK is going to be tough in football as long as Stoops is there. His brother Bob at OU missed it completely when he said that there were only 3 or 4 teams in the SEC to worry about. Vandy has come on, Ole Miss and UK are recruiting like gangbusters, as is UT. Arkansas has a good coach now.

There just are no patsies anymore and it's because of coaching since there's not a weak HC in the bunch. Look at the hires over the last few years and how it's turned doormat programs into real contenders in games (Spurrier, Mullen, Sumlin, Franklin) and already in recruiting (Freeze, Jones, & Bielema). I'm telling you, we cannot count on going undefeated in November anymore. Ignore that at your own peril. It's going to be almost impossible to go undefeated in this conference.
