Kevin Ware Release Granted by Coach Martin

Looking at that site, it appears that Rucker posted that news to his paying customers a little over 30 minutes ago.

So it's posted on a free message board. Then half an hour later, Rucker breaks the news to subscribers. Then another half hour later, he tells the unwashed masses.

You really might as well pull bills out of your wallet and set them on fire.

The right move by Martin. I hope Ware still comes, but it isn't right to hold people down like that when the situation has changed.

Who is the Guard from Ga that Coach Martin contacted with a Scholly offer [on rivals site]? is he a pg or sg and is he 2011 or 2012?

Derrick Henry out of Covington. 2011 shooting guard. No offer extended yet. He has offers from VCU and Richmond.

CCM made the right call on this and Ware might of played his way out of a scholarship.

You have to let these kids go if they want...especially with a new coach coming in...and I agree with another post...CMM may have decided he didn't want KW...may decide the same on CJ...but we will have to wait...its called patience....

Good move by CCM. I hope to see a very bright future for Tennessee Basketball in the coming years.

Little late to the thread. I think this is a good decision by Martin. Ware will know Martin is looking out for him and allow him to look while building trust. I bet he will be back after getting to know him. JMHO

I actually think Kevin Ware as high rated as he was (#56 overall) compared to this kid that Cuonzo MAY prefer Joshua. I follow Kevin Ware on twitter, and man all I can say is Markeith Ambles comes to mind. Maybe Cuonzo isn't just blowing smoke when he says he considers character very strongly in his talent evaluations. He may be a coach that would gladly take no. 121 over no. 56 if he feels strongly that no. 121 is less likely to get in trouble and more likely to work harder. Personally, I also would do that. Not saying I'm a saint bec granted if Ware was the no. 16 player then it'd be much harder to make this move. But for all of the great things Pearl did... if he had a weakness it would probably be his recruiting evaluation (esp. the character aspect). I'd say less then 1/2 of Pearl's recruits that he got straight from HS actually made it. Then u take away the obvious 5* like Tobias and Scotty and u could argue that Wayne Chism and Brian Williams are is his only recruit he got straight out of HS that worked out as well as projected. Obviously I;m not counting the guys the book is still open on like Mcrae and Golden. My point is mainly that based off Pearl's history of players panning out or not that I wouldn't hit any kind of panic button if Ware goes elsewhere. Previous data of Pearl recruited players shows that his chances of staying here all 4 yrs w/o leaving or getting kicked off are not great, and his chances of living up to his rating or real slim.

It may be too late. Hat says that, between Saturday when Martin was hired and today, spots have been "filling up". I hope Ware can find a D-III school with an opening. Tragic.

What is tragic about it? He had a DI scholarship and asked out of it. If he ends up at a DIII, then that is a result of his choice to leave UT. Nothing tragic there except for UT losing a player.
