Keystone Pipeline - a red line?

Y'all need to make up your minds on what the worst reason is and just stick with that. As is, you keep drifting back and forth between justifications. If I didn't know better I'd say you are just making it up and you don’t really have a clue as to the policy or politics of it.

Have I ever spoken on this topic before?

The reason is "politics." Courting the environmentalist vote. The decision was put off before the election last year until after the election. Why is that? Did Obama have a clear "win" to get the environmental vote? Cap and trade failed. Government subsidized alternate energy failed. Killing the coal industry...remains to be seen, but it's getting there.

However, he did brag about how much more oil has been drilled on US soil than any time before in history. And that would certainly draw the ire of the environmental crowd. However, delaying the Keystone XL pipeline didn't give him a "win" but rather a punt until after the election. Had he approved it last year, chances of losing the vote from the environmentalists would have been a real possibility. But we're past that and unless the candidate in 2016 needs that vote, it's time to fish or cut bait.

So by "ya'll" I'm seeing you must mean others besides myself and quoted the wrong post. I understand you made a mistake and I accept your apology in advance.

Geez man. Can't you see we're still working on it. You got troubles of your own in your junky party as it is. You need to go & worry about the funky way the Dems are acting & what they're up to.

Funny how he takes credit for oil production on "private" land.

Now the real question...

Do you think the Keystone XL is a good idea?

He's now blaming alot of stuff on fox news. I suppose he's running out of whose to blame more....go figure.

Want to see obama dance, watch the oreilly interview from yesterday. They finally shut him down (oreilly) because of the questions he was asking.

Hmmm

O'Reilly v Obama, Round 2 : Keystone, poverty and veterans | Fox News

President Obama told Bill O’Reilly Monday on “The O’Reilly Factor” that he was waiting to get an official recommendation from Secretary of State John Kerry before proceeding with the Keystone Pipeline.

Last time I looked the SecState worked for the Executive Branch which is headed by...Obama. So instead of taking the bull by the horns and making a decision, he's waiting for "recommendation?"

Weak. Complete leadership failure. Either crap or get off the pot. Make a decision, good or bad and stick to it. There has been enough time and studies. Don't put this on someone else now. Just do it.

Then he would have to own it. I think he may be gun shy after the aca launch.

Or he could just be a *****.

The dude is not running for office again & he's too timid to make the call to help the economy. Great leadership for ya. He's probably waiting for the elections to come around so as to agree to the go ahead to help his Dem buddies to look good.

I'm wondering if there is another theory other than the environmental angle. Does he not want to be perceived as weak by his own party for agreeing with something the GOP has been pushing for? It's not like he's been bipartisan since entering the White House.

And before you say anything LG, this falls under the "politics" realm.

It's an eyesore for those fine folks in Nebraska.
