Keep lying to yourself. That's a good defense mechanism when the truth is so painful.

Hat, sometimes you have to look deeper than whats on the surface.

I can imagine when you were fresh out of Law School, you had all this experience at deliberation and had a ton of cases that you won, to show to your prospective employer.

If you are as good of a Lawyer as you claim to be, someone went out on a limb to give you a chance to prove yourself. Thats all CDD wants and Im willing to give him that chance.

Everyone has to start somewhere. Just give the man a chance before you doom him to failure.

Nope. Started my own practice straight out of law school. I didn't want or need anyone to give me the benefit of the doubt.

Even better!!

Well, your first client was the one that was taking a chance.

What if they didnt want an unproven Lawyer representing them in a Court of Law?

But they did take a chance on you and now look what you have.

Be positive my friend!!!

I'd be far more confident if UT had hired a guy who had never been a head coach before instead of a guy who was mediocrity defined in the WAC.

He as done well with recruiting. I do not necessarily know about all the staff hires but with that said. Hard to judge his ability to coach based on staff hires and saving a recruiting class. We will finish at least 5 or 6 in the SEC. Coaches inbound and the staff he surrounds himself with and their ability to coach will determine. Major concern is defense.

Does the first bowl win in 30 years mean anything? If he had stayed on with Saban would you look at him differently?

No and yes. Had he stayed with Saban, he wouldn't be the guy that got passed up in the WAC standings by Idaho.

Is Dooley an upgrade over Kiffin? All we can say is yes to this point.

Was I confused when Dooley's name came out? Yes.

Should we at least give him the benefit of the doubt? Yes, that's the only choice we have.

To Hat. Well obviously there is no point in arguing, especially with you haha. But truly think about it and see if you really are a true fan. I completely understand not being happy about a hire and a coach doing poorly. However, there is difference between being unhappy about a situation and wanting someone to fail. You are taking the position of wishing ill-fortune on our head coach. What makes you not a fan is that you would rather be right about a hire than the program doing well. Just because you have 40k posts does negate that fact.

Tennessee hired a guy who couldn't get an interview at Memphis. This guy will be an utter disaster. He did less at Louisiana Tech than Gary Crowton. Ask BYU fans how great Crowton was for them. His father is the most overrated coach in SEC history. He'll simply be one of the 10 worst ever.

I never could stand Vince Dooley, and definitely agree. I'd feel much better about our situation if Erk Russell was our DC...but alas Erk is no longer with us.

Hard to blame Derek for being born a Dooley or for taking a job offered to him.

Guess I'll just sit back, hope for the best and enjoy the ride and the many "Hat fights" to come.

Where have I said I want Doofus to be the disgrace I'm certain he will be? I gagged at the sight of Fulmer, but I never rooted for him to lose.

So why go to law school? Just start practicing out of high school or college with an undergrad degree?

Low profile with heritage. Dad overrated is questionable. He filled the need. Dooley may be here for 2 years or 17. All I know is that it was an improvement over what we had and over the one that quit coaching when he won the NC 1998.

So do you want Dooley to do well and prove you wrong, or fail, be fired and prove you to be the genius that you like to think you are?

That's comical. Call me when Doofus follows up and adds a Bryce Brown type talent in a couple of weeks. Tennessee paid Wal Mart wages in this hire and they are going to get Big Lots results.

Really? You want to add Rich Rodriguez to the mix since you're so obviously right on every call you make?

I don't want to bet with you, Hat, but it isn't due to a lack of confidence.

Billy G needs to lay down the bottle before he can even begin to think about coaching in any sort of tournament.
Rich Rod will be fine if the Michigan faithful doesn't run him off.
