There's no way O's hiring was tied to bringing Kiffin. Everyone knew he was going hunting for a HC gig. O got the job when Texas went after Herman.

LSU had no real homerun options after Herman announced to go to Texas. So, they are in a holding pattern until next off season and maybe they can get a homerun hire at that point.
O is not their long term solution..........

Sark has a lot of issues himself but you have to believe Saban wanted him gone

I don't think Saban wanted him gone. It was more like Kiffin wanted to go somewhere where he had the opportunity to be a HC. I don't know Saban personally so I could be off on this.

HC at a C-USA program is still better than OC somewhere, even Bama, especially for a guy who needs to rebuild his HC resume

For FAU this is a huge boost in recruiting. being able to cover broward and dade county hes "popular" enough where those kids who arent 4 and 5 * but are still solid florida athletes will flock there. they have a beautiful new stadium too. USF anf FAU just made recruiting even more difficult for UM FSU UF imo.

Agree with this. Some stud QB prospect down there is going to see an opportunity to go to FAU and be coached by Kiffin, throw for a ton of yards in their weak conference, and write his own NFL ticket.
