kiffin to FAU

I'd rather live in Fla than Alabama period. Kiffin around a bunch of college females by the beach. This won't end well.

I think this is a good job for Kiffin because I'm not sure if he understands some of the fine details of being a Head Coach. He'll learn a lot at FAU, it will make him a better coach because of it.

How long Kiffey stays at FL Atlantic??

I'll say 1.769 Seasons!!

Well if he hasn't learned the fine details after 3 different HC jobs then he is screwed. He has been around football all his life , he is just arrogant enough that he thinks he knows it all.

FAU actually got some coverage when Howard S was HC. Part of the pump of him going there to build that program.

Never laughed.
Ben and Flaco pull thier own weight
He'll some could make a case for Ben to be the best Steeler QB ever.
Derek Carr is solid
The rest aren't.
Fitzpatrick is probably out of a job at seasons end.

And Fitzpatrick will land a job elsewhere. They don't have to be studs, they just have to make nice NFL paychecks

I'll admit it's a lot nicer than I expected.

Its funny because FAU used to play at lockhart stadium which is where some of the local highschools played for years for "big" games. now they have there own stadium while the canes and usf play in pro stadiums.

Alot of cane fans and boosters liked the stadium design so much they wanted to copy it and make it a little larger like 50/60 thousand and put it down near the campus instead of the 30 min drive they have to make for games on Saturdays. This was before the dolphins renovated but still it would look better than a half empty pro stadium, its pretty pathetic most Saturdays.

It's a pretty good indication of how bad it must have sucked for those two to be working together on the same staff. He couldn't get out of their fast enough and Saban couldn't push him out the door forceful enough.

I Could see Kiffin bolting for a place like Fresno State in 2-3 years if the job came open and they acutally wanted the sorry sack.

Love it for Kiffin. He will follow Charlie Partridge. Howard Schnellenger went 1-11 his last year there.

Kiffin had to view this as his last chance to be a HC.

Team averages less than 10,000 a game. This is the path he should have been on before Mike Hamilton rolled the dice on him and we will now see what Kiffin is made of. Wonder if Monte will come in to coach defense and chaperone his offspring?

My over/under.

I am OVER whelmed at the amount of publicity he gets.

I am UNDER whelmed at what he does that generates that publicity.

of being kicked around by Saban. In fact, Kiffin has been a HUGE reason for bama's success. This move shows how desperate Kiffin is. I figured he'd get a much better head job this off-season--he is a good coach.

No, he's an AWESOME offensive coordinator ( with 'Bama talent) but has proven beyond a doubt that he's a terrible head coach. Been fired twice to prove it.

Whats even Worse is how OK some of you are with how he screwed over our program! :neener:

.

Took his "dream job" can't blame him for that but I think he is feeling the consequences of his choices. The administration screwed this program over with the low buyouts for leaving, high buyouts for getting canned and rushing to name a HC instead of leaving Kippy in charge for a season to regroup. So it's just as much Hamiltons fault as it is Kiffins.

I like your avitar btw :good!::good!:

Just means that when Kiffin crushes it at FAU (going to bowls at 6-6), we can hire him back when inevitably Butch fails.... Butch can totally save himself with this OC change.....

Kiffin is there because he didn't want a huge buyout hanging over his head. And if you think there is any scenario where he works at Tennessee again ever? You have a better chance trying to run your car on Kool-Aid.

I do blame him for taking his "dream job". He had a commitment to UT. His dream job would have still been there at a later point in his career.

Had he not selfishly bailed on his commitment, things would have probably worked out much better; not only for him, but for all effected by his decision.

He is the poster boy for the "I want what's best for me and I want it now" mentality.

You reap what you sow....eventually.

Have to agree Kiffin should have honored commitment here but Hamilton was a MORON!!!

Career suicide in progress.
I disagree. It became obvious he was going to have to settle for a job like that and prove himself as a HC before getting a better HC gig. It should be easy for him to recruit well and show a big W/L improvement there. If he proves he's matured and can build and manage that program, he'll get better offers. If he fails as a HC, he can go back to making a good living as an OC at a big program. Not really career suicide, either way.
