Kiffin's firing should send a signal to Butch about...

Butch knows exactly where he is at. UT demands a winner and if he can't get it done he is well aware of what will happen.

He seems set on not playing the freshman. Worley will play every snap the rest of the year.

IMO, u are right & I believe he is right in doing so. I wouldn't burn either of their redshirts on this season, either. We have to keep our eyes on the future, ladies & gentlemen. I know we have been doing so for YEARS now, but our time is coming, where we will once again be back on top!

He will keep his job here for 4-5 years because UT does not have the $ to pay another former coach. The way some of you post things on here you would think UT has a money tree to pay coaches with. The money ain't there anymore. Thread/. Why this stupid thread has gone on this long is a mystery.

Interesting leap you took there OP. As I intrepret the majority of posts on here over the past several months, most knew it would be a great success to win 6 games this year. Those who thought 8 or 9 wins just because of a new staff were in the minority. IMO recruits this year believe that they are the groundwork for the turnaround of a sleeping giant.

There is no hidden meaning, but mounting losses and near misses to teams you should beat handily WILL hurt recruiting. It did to Kiffin, and it WILL hurt CBJ if this team doesn't improve even a little over the past few years.

That is because Kiffin is a snake oil sales type guy. Coach Jones is a class act guy that has a history of success. I dare say he recruits without the smoke and mirrors that Kiffin uses / used. Either way no one at TN is looking at this year as a measuring stick for Butch. This year is what it is. Keep the recruiting class together, build another great one, and improve next year on the field. Better times ahead.

I say extend the same kind gesture that Lane did us. Lets call players and tell them not to attend class .....we are signing starters!!!

Lane had a team full of 5 and 4*s and lost to inferior opponents. Butch has walk ons and has lost to better teams. The situations are the exact opposite.

USC sent a clear signal that they will act as necessary, when necessary. Kiffin was relieved of his duties upon exiting the plane in the middle of the night. If our AD had the fortitude to do the same, we would have fired Dooley when he stepped off the bus after the UK debacle in 2011. I abhor SC, but their administration has done a far better job of caretaking their program through a tough time than ours has. The way the UT program has been mismanaged and left to rot is a disgrace.

....about the current recruiting class (and beyond). The losses USC experienced has caused recruits to drop like flies. To keep this (UT) class fairly intact and/or build on it, he and the staff are going to HAVE to work some magic these next few weeks, and beat expectations....which are lower now than they were before we started losing.

You can sell only so many promises. Many will want to see SOME tangible improvement on in this team, and right now, there doesn't appear to be any, except on the defensive side of the ball.

I'm hoping against hope that Worley can have a breakout game against UGA like Crompton did a few years ago, but I'm not counting on it. Not playing one of the freshman, at all...doesn't show recruits...especially the receivers, that there is much hope for the future. So, he REALLY needs to show something there...going to HAVE to burn one of their redshirts to do that.

Now son what have I told you about posting without are permission? Your mom and I are trying to have some private Sunday afternoon time.:acute:

And this is just ridiculous, unless neither of the Freshman can hit the broad side of a barn.... Staying with Worley the rest of the year = 5-7 at best

This is just a different thread started to again address the same old tired topic of recruits. Please move on.

I'll be kind here....I disagree with most all of your assumptions...Oh...and the improvement by the defense...that...if true...is huge...and having a new QB, all new freshman receivers on offense....may be the easiest sell of all to recruits...thats what the Georgia receiver that commit last week SAID...."I COULD HAVE HELPED THEM TODAY"...speaking of the Florida game...so have fun with this stuff....but those of us with patience and NEVER thought in a million years we would be better than 3-2 at this point...the future looks bright...But I must agree...seeing this silliness in print really is humorous....

I think last night they had 60 players dressed with scholarships. Why more on here can't see that is beyond me.

Keyshawn Johnson didn't buy this excuse. He said basically 30-35 players will see the field. Go look at the official USC roster there is almost 85+ players listed.

Ill worry about recruiting in December. Right now let's try and get to seven wins.

Lol, yeah losing games is not why USC lost so many recruits. And losing to teams that are way more talented than your team (which is all that UT has done so far this season) is much different than getting beat by Washington State.
