Kim Caldwell (Rookie Coach of the Year-WBCA) is named Head Coach of Iconic Lady Vols WBB

I think the only player we need to keep is Spear, I wouldn’t mind everyone else leaving. But also Cooper and Boyd are unknown for me so maybe they can stay as well but that’s it.
Exactly. Maybe I mis read your post, I thought you were worried about girls going out.

The priors on Cooper and Boyd are really good so maybe let's not kick them to the curb so quickly.

Even if Jewell works on her game this off season, she has never done well in 5 vs. 1 matchups. She will need some teammates.

Jon isn't the issue for the results; that's 100% on Kellie. She was the head coach. Even if he was overstepping his boundaries, it was her job to get her staff under control.

I think that Jon was criticized because the hardcore Kellie fans couldn't bring it on themselves to hold her accountablle.
That’s kinda what I was gathering, but was curious to hear a specific criticism of him because I’ve seen him bashed all season, but not the other assistants. (Many of The people I’ve seen bash him didn’t even criticize Kellie, actually) I just didn’t know what I was missing, and it’s possible I’m missing a lot . I’m a simpleton.

Men’s program under Pearl and Barnes disagree. Holly had players but lacked results

Get the leadership right and the rest takes care of itself
X/O knowledge is the best-- you can do more with less. As LSU had Angel, UCONN had Paige, Iowa has Caitin, we had Rickea. We should have had better results, IMO. When she wasn't there, they looked terrible.

That’s why I said to keep Cooper and Boyd since we haven’t seen them yet, so potential can be there.

I think Matthew Mitchell may be in play.
That would be weird imo. He was great at UK, but his health issues forced him out for a few seasons and I’d have reservations about someone who has been out of it a few years. Maybe he knew this was coming and he passed on UK, or maybe UK passed on him. IDK. He’s a great coach, but that would be an odd hire, imo.

My prayer is Friday. Drop it right before the Final Four games so we get that sweet free press of the halftime shows.
Never know if that accentuates the coverage of a hire or buries it. Talking head dependent. As important as evaluation and developmental skills are, ability to recruit BOTH channels against the hot coaches is PROBABLY the key.

Just knowing the right players, or the ability to maximize them don’t mean much if you don’t win ENOUGH or the right positional mix, especially in the top heavy SEC.

We should have a great historical view of winning due to better talent during the glory years.

I would have said Key. She was playing at a very high level late in the season and they don't make many with her measurables.
No longer on the roster. She has already retired.

Spear, Cooper, Boyd, Puckett and Hollingshed are probably the priorities to keep, with the latter two becoming less critical if the new coach can bring some size with them.

I initially thought of him, but wouldn't it be over by now if it was?
Unless it’s about optics and not wanting it to look like they made a hire while they still had a coach, and give the appearance of an actual search. I’d be surprised if it’s him.

I think maybe there was an aspect of him being perceived as a hanger on who didn't bring any tangible value to the program, but that doesn't mean that the issues with the program were him. I heard alot of grumblings about him taking too prominent a role in staff huddles while poor helpless Kellie was pushed aside, but if true, that would be on Kellie, not Jon.
