I think he needs to avoid a shootout and control the clock more and try to wear them down. UGA didn’t win 12 games by throwing it 48 times per game. Bennett had attempted more than 20 passes 2x all year, he had like 18 attempts in the first half. Then obviously in the 2nd half they felt they had to, once they got down by 2 scores. The 3 RB averaged 4.4 YPR which isn’t great but it’s good enough to keep moving the chains. Their game plan from the beginning was odd to me.

If Kirby is ever to beat Saban, he's probably going to have to pull an upset. Maybe a large upset.

At some point in the future when Alabama and UGA meet again, do you think UGA will have a better team than this year and Alabama will have a worse team? Rightly or wrongly, this game was perceived as kind of Kirby's time to get it done. Not many people, especially national media people, thought Alabama was going to win.

I thought Kirby would win this one too and believed it would be by 14+ to boot, because of the way both played all year. But at the same time I wouldn’t consider it an upset (outside of the Vegas sense) because the talent is still there for Bama and it’s no secret the coaching column goes to them. The surprise to me this year has been more why Bama hasn’t played up to their perceived talent level and I guess some of it can be attributed to being younger in some positions.

All I care about is that something interferes with their recruiting - “Kirby is a loser”, “UGA chokes”, “Vols player development is superior” - whatever narrative can be advanced to bring UGA down and lift us up is good for me.

I am sure you feel the same way being a Vol.

This.. Bama with Saban has had these seasons every few years where the draft takes a larger toll than normal with a couple of those players being KEY leaders. The following year they still have talent on par with anyone and people say "this is not your normal Bama team". They play "young" during the season, but, in the end, they're always still in the NC hunt..

The mitigating factor is Saban.

IMO, as long as Saban is there, Bama should NEVER be considered an underdog to anyone.

In one of these threads leading up to the game, some believed UGA would boat race Bama. I warned them not to to count on it. I honestly can't remember Bama ever being "boat raced" with Saban at the helm.

Fair enough. Was it the proverbial "even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then" or was that Clemson team LOADED with the best QB in the country playing for them?

Saban isn't God, he loses occasionally. My main point is, it's NOT choking when you lose to Bama coached by Saban. If Clemson would've lost to them that year, it wouldn't have been considered a choke job...

I do but I think it’s going to take more than 11-12 win seasons and getting to ATL 75% of the time to get kids to stop going there; especially GA kids.

Georgia and Kirby unfortunately aren’t going anywhere whether they win the natty this season or not.

Joe Brady is now available. If I were Kirby, I'd throw a ton of money at him to bring him in and run that offense.

I've been told by some HS coaches in the area that the Ga kid he has coming in, Stockton, is fool's gold. Lots of WR screens and padded stats. It'll be interesting to see if they're right

Never ceases to amaze me that some don't have the intelligence to tell the difference between shilling for the muts and stating that losing to a Saban led Bama team is NOT choking...

Hell, we all know losing to Saban is nothing new, I just don’t feel the need to spell that out in ugas defense at any mention that uga choked.

But, you be you. Hope you’re either getting paid or getting pleasure doing uga fans’ jobs for them.
