Starting Stetson Bennett is a 1000x dumber decision than starting Fromm over Fields. Fromm was at least a competent passer who had led a team to within a play of the national title game the previous season, and Fields was a true freshman. It wasn't patently obvious, in my opinion, that Fields should have been starting over him.

In contrast, Stetson Bennett is a 5'11'' noodle-armed walk-on whose go-to throw is an underthrown back shoulder fade that draws a PI call. It was totally obvious and predictable that having him as your QB was eventually going to cost him in a big game, although UGA would have lost tonight even if JT Daniels played or if Bennett played much better. UGA was absolutely thrashed in just about every facet of the game tonight.

I agree on the Fromm-Fields argument. Obviously Fields ended up great but Kirby wasn’t making the call to win the following year or year after, he had a great shot that year and Fromm gave him the best chance that year. Fields didn’t look very good when he played his freshman year. Fromm was clearly better that year.

Really dude? You think that Bama team ain't talented? Their front seven is every bit as talented as any team in the land. An elite, I mean ELITE Heisman leading QB, and at least one, maybe two first round WRs (after sending two first rounders last year). But the Tide is less talented? Mmmmm-ok.

I think this year Georgia has the better team. And that didn’t show. We’ve seen that over the course of the season, Georgia is a very good team, Bama is a very beatable team. That didn’t show last night.

You think the rosters are that much different? You act like Bama rolled a UT roster out there and beat the greatest roster ever assembled. They’re clearly the 2 best rosters hands down and one has a better coach. Bama winning isn’t some massive surprise or Cinderella upset. The rosters of OSU, Bama and UGA are practically interchangeable in terms of talent.

Kirby probably thought the 24 points his team put up would be enough to win. But now that he knows his defense can’t shut down Bama, he has to equip his team to compete in a shootout if they meet again in the natty. He’s going to have to make the tough decision to bench Bennett for Daniels.

The most fun part about kirby is he owes EVERYONE. They can't get rid of him, he's in debt up to his eyeballs. He owes the school, he owes the boosters, he owes recruits, he owes the fans, he owes the commish, and he owes disney. Georgia will be paying off his debt for a very long time.

Kirby finally, just this year passed Richt’s overall record. Yes there was no Saban during the start of Richt’s career but the East was much tougher back the as well between us and Florida. Even SC got decent for a while during Richt’s career. Then, the back half of of his tenure he had to deal with Saban and Meyer, among others. The SEC was stronger during Richt’s tenure. With that said, Kirby is a little better overall but UGA didn’t fire Richt and hire Kirby to play second fiddle to Bama. Through 5 seasons they have the same number of NCs and Richt has 2 SEC titles to Kirby’s 1. That’s what matters to UGA fans. We will see how year 6 finishes for Kirby but I’m betting there won’t be a NC.

And the only reason Smart doesn’t have more SEC titles is because of Saban. That’s a HUGE contextual detail that has to be factored in.

He lost to LSU in the 2019 SECCG and he didn't make the SECCG in 2020 because of Florida. Now, if you want to argue that Kirby would not have beaten Saban in 2020, perhaps that's true, but Saban was not the reason Kirby didn't win the SEC last year.

He's been blocked twice by Saban...he's also been blocked twice by other teams.

Kirby's main issue other than not being a good game day coach is he has some kind of weird fetish for Georgia high school QBs. He went and recruited some of the best in the nation, Eason and Fields, and then promptly sat them down behind a much less talented Fromm and good ol Georgia boy. We saw how well that worked out for him. Then this year here he has what was a very talented QB with experience at USC benched for what else? A good ol' walk on Georgia boy who in his own mind thought he had SEC foot speed until TooToo squashed that idea like a bug. Kirby's good ol' Georgia went out and produced exactly what Fromm did on the big national championship stage, nothing. Bennett is a weakness at QB compared to his counterpart Young at Bama. Now does Kirby damn the torpedoes and put Bennett back out there if they get lucky to see Bama again or make the change at QB? Bama was playing with them in the 2nd half getting the UGA offense to show them everything and they did. They've got one weapon on offense that can play at Bama's level and it's their TE #19. Bama shuts him down easily if they meet again.

UGA abandoned the run for some reason. They need to pound the ball and set up play action off that. They went away from the run and just tried to throw and that is not going to work.
