Knox County Passes Mandatory Indoor Face Masks

I'm not counting anything except that people like you are dishonest as hell.

Europe did better, europe did better!. Bullshtt.
You might can make that claim in 2 months but not now.

Additionally it honestly takes a simpleton to think you can look at 1 or 2 graphs and make some comparison. This thing is so complex in terms of population density, population age, percent in elder care facilities etc. It is quite the BS to think you can make these grandiose claims.

I will also add that my opinion is the US is at a distinct disadvantage with this illness. I doubt many counties do a better job of taking people with very unhealthy lifestyles and extending their life. We do that, and that scenario is custom made for this illness.

You're absolutely right here.....we have an idiot as President who has shown no leadership whatsoever during this pandemic. Out of his league

Because masks are mostly intended to keep somebody from spreading germs. It’s not nearly as effective at keeping things out because the airborne particles are so small.
Then how does it keep them in?

Great non sequitur from the guy who has not cited any studies to support his position...you should have stopped after the bolded part...lol.

Here's a recap of what I have posted:

Stanford researchers reengineer COVID-19 face masks | Stanford News

Can COVID-19 Spread Through the Air?

Here's a great chart in addition:

Above all, the greater point is that masks hinder herd immunity...having people who are not at risk wear masks while those at risk walk around with masks is the most asinine idea possible

NoCookies | The Australian

This is my last response to you...carry on with your schtick.

I have said over and over again that I'm not trying to figure out the virus, nor am I concerned with studies. My sole concern is getting back to life as normal as quickly as possible. The people who will decide when that can and will happen want cases to drop. So I will do what I can to make that happen.

You can focus on whatever stats, charts, figures, etc that you'd like and respond as you see fit. You can argue that the decision makers ought to agree with you. But they don't. Until they do, digging your heels in only drags this crap out.

So here is the only logic that matters: you can decide you're right and insist on ignoring the decision makers or you can decide that we need to get past this. You can't do both. The longer you wait for everyone to agree with you is the longer you'll wait to restart life.

Our approach worked well the past two nights but the 4th weekend is historically mild in Knoxville as far as bars. We'll see how it goes next week.

There was one guy who came in Friday, walked up to my key bartender and asked us "they're still making you do that?" in reference to our masks, to which I responded by tossing a mask to him and telling him it goes both ways. He made some snide remark and walked out. Today, he returned in a MAGA hat, harassed my hostess until my bouncer confronted him. He then whipped out his phone and started recording as I came up and nudged him off our property and told him to come back when he wanted to cease his crusade. He stormed off to an applause from our patio guests.

2020 is so ****ing weird. Regardless of where you stand politically, it's so strange to harangue a business for its practices as though you literally have nothing better to do. I think he was a mental case and I didn't want to see it escalate beyond trying to **** my hostess and insult my staff.
I vote for nutcase. Obviously didn't have anything better to do with his time. Businesses are between a rock and a hard place right now.

We are a massive country. We are very far behind per capita deaths. And have an extremely low death rate. Odd given the left claims we have 3rd world health care.
A fringe group might have made that claim. Good job dumbing it down to the level of this board

We should be ashamed as to how we've responded

Only in expelled sputum or a loogey. That gets stuck in the mask. There is still aerosalation of virus from a good cough. The mask just mitigates it.
Right. So 99% of the time the mask isn’t actually helping anything and, as many have pointed out in here, could make things worse due to people constantly touching their mouth and nose area, among other reasons.

It’s a freaking virus. We can’t cure it. We can’t stop it. We’ve already slowed it so the hospitals weren’t overwhelmed. Let’s get this thing over with.

Some of us dont need to restart, didnt stop.

What shame is there in our response
None, we just found out the other day the exact mechanism of the clotting factor that's responsible for many of these deaths. That's 3-4 months in.
We started with we don't know if it transmits from human to human... Duh and that was from the WHO. Oh the footfaults that have happened since.

When you say “we”, do you mean “the world”? Because the argument being made is that “we” (America) failed relative to the rest of the world

Well it sure is a good thing that we decided to set every American over 50 adrift on an ice floe last year. If we still had any 50+ citizens we might actually have to worry about their health and safety.
Not really though because the mandate doesn’t apply to kids under 12 and in other instances as well. So an 11 year old is immune but a 12 year old isn’t?

Congrats. Not everyone is so fortunate.

But, if it's all about you, keep doing what you're doing. No one else matters.

The go forward isnt all about me, it is a mindset. It is the realization you cant just shut down the world's largest economy and think all will be ok. It takes quite a bit naivete to even entertain that concept.

I will keep doing what I am doing because it is what I want and it also benefits many others.

This is why I loved bubble boy. He wore the bubble for the rest of us. A true martyr. He never tried to proclaim the rest of us were selfish for not wearing bubbles.

They should do a 2020 version of the movie where he goes around yelling at everyone else for not wearing bubbles because he’s at risk.

I haven't seen that movie, so the reference isn't landing with me.
