Saw where in Old City the Patrick Sullivan Saloon has had renovation & restoration and re-opened last night as
.
The Lonesome Dove
.
serving western cuisine.
Anybody make there? Tell us all about it.
the original had good food and never was a "puke" spot. Looks like around 150/200 to eat there as a couple. Would rather have a decent rest and affordable prices than a gimmick high end place. No need for that in the classic saloonWell I wouldn't wish failure on any chef/owner. While there is that high dollah cut mentioned above, I looked at the Lonesome Dove menu online and it looks like a couple other high end steakhouse pricing here in Knoxville. And given the Old City can use a successful business to anchor the area on that spot and draw some real money down and spread around after dinner there for drinks and some music at other spots down there, it's a good thing. Frankly, I'm glad it's not just another dive bar with puke out front on the sidewalk.
That building seems to be where dreams go to die.
Businesses just can't succeed there.
I saw that. I'm not familiar with it. To be honest my first assumption was they were trying to kinda trade on Stock and Barrels name
Where Hurricanes is on Lovell, for instance...I'm amazed it's still kickin
The menu looks similar to what you might find in Asheville. I might give the place a try for a wedding anniversary or something. 90-100 bucks for a night out isn't horrible these days.Well I wouldn't wish failure on any chef/owner. Who has a better burger in Knoxville, IYO?
That particular site's turnover can probably be blamed by Ruby Tuesday company. It basically went something like this.
Property owned by Ruby Tuesday:
1. Ruby Tuesday
2. Jim and Nicks - Rented from but also operated by Ruby Tuesday
3. Marlin and Rays
Property owned by Hurricane's:
4. Hurricane's Bar and Grill
