Knoxville Restaurants

Eric, if you are ever at Sam Andys Broadway in a Tuesday try the chicken fried steak and garlic potatoes. Just one of the best meals around.

I refuse to believe that chicken fried steak will ever qualify for the finals of "best meals around" in any town in America

Oh, I know. I was specifically referring to the Kobe burger at Bonefish. Honestly, though, I have never had a bad meal there. Consistently good seafood, fair pricing, nice salad.

I had a semi-bad meal at Bonefish, it was the fish and chips. It was just really greasy and mostly bland. I'd have sent it back but the whole dinner ended up being a cluster with the whole family along with two toddlers. I've had much better dishes from there in the past though.

Have you had it? It's quite delicious and very tasty. I'm not a food snob and don't need pop up restaurants and 5 stars to tell me what's good. It's southern cooking at a good price so IMO yes, one of the best meals around.

Yeah, I remember one of my boys getting fried fish there and it was nothing special when I tasted it. I either get one of the daily specials or fresh catch + one of the toppings.

I had it once. It was weird. Steak isn't supposed to be fried.

It's hard to not get the Fish and Chips at Connors. It's weird, but I dip the fish in BBQ sauce. It's my go to there. Their prime rib is really good too!

A friend of mine's family used to own a restaurant and they made a fish dipping sauce out of BBQ sauce & mayo...funny you mentioned that.

Went to Connor's last night, again! Had the Sirloin, cooked to a perfect medium, with garlic herb mashed potatoes and broccoli. It was absolutely delicious! Service was great as always too.

Then finished off the trip with some Sweet Frog yogurt! Cake Batter mixed with Peanut Butter, and topped with peanut butter chips, Reese's pieces, and hot fudge.

Have any of you tried 1000 Degrees Pizza in Turkey Creek? We're getting one in Sarasota/Bradenton. It looks to be similar to Blaze.

It's not in Knoxville, but Flamingo Grill in Myrtle Beach is very good if any of you guys are ever down here..

Richy Kreme > Krispy Kreme

Richy Kreme is a Blount County jewel few people outside of Blount know about.

What brought me to Duck Donuts was the need for 3 dozen donuts and Richy Kreme was closed. My son had mentioned how good they were so I gave them a try. They were still warm when I got to Greenback.

Makers dusts all of them. I may be biased as I can walk from my church to makers.

Ricky Kreme is and always will be my fave but I admit to never trying Duck Donuts. Have the lines subsided there? I refuse to stand in line for a donut. If that means missing out, so be it :D

I like the donuts at Honeybee Coffee. Not my fave but not overly sweet so a good option when I don't want the sugar laden diabetes hit of Richy Kreme.

Honeybee coffee is great. I love the nitro.

Never tried their donuts.

Now that I've finally dined at Stock and Barrel, I can weigh in.

wtf is wrong with you @ haters

I will admit that one time mine was a little overcooked. One of the owners is/was the main cook there. When he's not cooking I have noticed a slight downgrade in quality. He is a darn good cook. It's possible you've hit it when he's not cooking.

Good Times Deli. That began my love affair with Reuben sandwiches. Wonder if it's still open. It's been decades since my last visit.

It's pretty much the exact same stuff as Sam & Andy's. Same family, same meat/cheese providers, same bread, same steamers.

Of course, this was 25-30 years ago.
