Knoxville Restaurants

Why don’t you forward your concerns to people who can actually do something?

Perhaps the business owners?

Because I’ll probably never visit the Pizza Palace....I’m just saying it’s stupid in 2018 to be cash only. Someone else who goes there can show them all the less than 5 star reviews.

So why are you upset about the business practices of a place you’ll never visit?

I rarely carry cash but the food is worth the inconvenience of having to go get cash. It’s an annoyance, but not one I’m certain justifies a dozen posts. That’s just me though.

Because how anyone defends it baffles me...

I know when I pick a restaurant I make sure to check the reviews from 8 years ago to see if it's worth it

Right...pretty good score, overall. Also, a lot of complaints about it being cash only, which is what we're discussing here. We're not debating whether or not they have good food.

Can you post a review of the location with the criteria of cash/no cash?
No you cannot without cherry picking the overall reviews.
I posted the entire review, warts and all. Which included "the food sucks to the no cash" blah, blah, blah.
Still the total rating is 4.6 out of 5 stars with the complaints included.

So it appears your continued crying about a place you've never visited and their business model places you in the very small minority of people that give a ****.

Get the half bird fried dinner. It’s fantastic. I think I may get some before I sit down to watch the NASCAR race this Sunday.

It appears to be a decent pizza place with flavorless onion rings, located in a crappy part of town, and the owners are obviously cooking the books.

Seems solid.

Obviously? Come on man.

Maybe they’re just stuck in their ways, or waiting until a younger generation takes over management.

There is no way the owners/managers aren't aware of the problems that have risen from taking only cash. I'm sure they hear the complaints more than once a week. There is no excuse for them not changing there ways after all these years other than they're cooking their books.

...or....maybe they just don’t want to?

Pancake Pantry in Gatlinburg is the same way and they always have a line out the door. It’s clearly not a requirement.

(Sorry to litter the thread with talk of such a trashy town, my bank statement is still pitiful enough I enjoy it.)

So...wife and I will be up in May for our annual (and sometimes semi-annual) journey to the Holy Land. We stay in a cabin where the back porch is looking right at Mt. LeConte. I still have family in Powell, so we have no problem making the trip to Knoxville (love Downtown Grill and Nama).

(sigh) So my beloved bride has gone "no meat" on me, thanks to the Gentle Barn (and yes, we'll be visiting it while we're there), while Wautash loves him a nice, thick, medium-rare steak.

So...VN...my challenge to y'all is: is there a place within reasonable driving distance of G'burg where one can get (a) some really good seafood (which she will eat), and a really good steak (which I plan to eat)?

Mind you, this is the same woman who is deadly at 5 yards with her S&W .38, so hold off on the jokes about marrying a tree-hugger, or I will sic her on you...lol

I'll hang up and listen.

Go Vols.
